Just dragged the blazer home the fuel tank and front of the frame will work with my plan but from the forward spring perch on rear Springs back frame is completely different from the 87 truck. Idk if it's because it's a blazer or because it's a 1990 but the rear spring hanger is the same as the...
I bought the frame and fuel tank from a k5 blazer if the rain ever stops I will pull the steering box of my 87 so I can bolt it onto the blazer so I will be able to steer the blazer when I tow it home I am only keeping the frame and fuel tank everything else I will take back after I pull it...
Finally got the hoe lifted up and the auto tranny pulled a guy said he will call tomorrow to set up a time to get it. Haven't talked price yet I had it advertised at 500 as long as I get atleast 400 for it I will be happy lol
So that's one part out of my way tomorrow I work 330 to noon after...
A drop pitman arm for an 80s chevy is 112 dollars and a raised steering arm (curved peice) is only 50 bucks so less than 200 bucks to get steering back to stock 80s geometry. That's easiest and cheapest solution so that's probably what I will do.
Thanks fabricating ain't to hard just as long as you go slow and take a lot of measurements. The massive cut in my hours at work will leave me with alot of free time to work on this hopefully I can get it done before summer ends.
I got a question on steering. On 80s trucks if you lift them...

Ford axles can be hard to find I can get 32 spline input shafts and a bearing kit for the np208 online pretty easy 90s chevy frames that aren't rotted or cracked are impossible to find around here and usually if you can find one there not cheap and you still have independent front suspension...
Still haven't had any time to work on this project lately but my hours at work are getting cut back to 8 hours a day so I should get back to working on it soon. But plans are changing. She still is getting the 5 speed swap but I got an 87 parts truck yesterday. 87 is square body which has solid...
Have not had a chance to work on this truck in a couple weeks weather has been bad and have had to work on some of my other projects but I did sell the motor out of the parts truck for 400 bucks which completely covers what I paid for it also sold its gas tank for 75 bucks. Hopefully I can work...
I still haven't even attempted to pull brake pedal off either truck is the brake pedal hard to get out? What has to be removed to get it out? It looked like it would be a pain so I haven't bothered to try yet.
Slowly making progress. It's been raining today so I didn't get to work on it. But I forgot to post what I did yesterday I got all the holes cut and drilled for the pedal master cylinder and both shifters. And 4wd shifter is installed. And I discovered why the blend door actuator don't work...
Normally u joints are an easy job but not this time we spent several hours with a torch and a mini 10lb sledge hammer trying to get the old u joints out of the z71s driveshafts so I could put new u joints in and get them ready for the hoe but even after finally getting them all out it wasn't...
Ok I figured it out the pinout I posted the other day was right on wire functions but not the colors and that is what was confusing me along with the fact alot of threads say the start wires are heavy gauge wires. They aren't. I just spent the last hour reading wore diagrams testing the wires...
It's obvious when chevy designed the 07-13 HD trucks they wanted them to like 67/68 chevys
There is alot of similarity in there front ends
I have seen pictures of 07-13 HD hoods grafted onto 88-98 chevys and I like the way it looks
I have also seen 67 grills and headlights grafted into...
It was dark by the time we got home so I wasn't able to trace the wires on the z71 yet.

I found and read your thread. On page 1 sunlitcomit said to connect the purple wires on the clutch pedal switch to the purple wires from the 4l60e transmissions range selector? Were those wires in...
I already have the gauge cluster changed so it no longer says prnd321 :) and I have the column changed so I don't have any peices of the auto shifter I just left to get a hole saw and torch when I get back I will pull the clutch pedal wires out of the z71s harness see were they go I will also...
Match them up to what? Should I pull the clutch pedal wires out of the z71s harness to see were they go on it and just wire them to the same spots on the Tahoe?
The clutch pedal switch has 4 wires 2 solid purple and 2 purple with white stripe. Does anyone know how they are supposed to be wired in? Everything I have read said the yellow and purple wires from the 4l60e neutral safety switch need to be wired to the clutch pedal switch so that they will be...
I just crawled under the Tahoe the big gray plug will plug into a matching grey plug on the Tahoe tranny wiring harness and all the wire colors match. The vss plugs are different but have sames purple and green wires. So cut the connector off the old harness and splice in the correct connect...
Good news the transfer case and front differential have a standalone harness making wiring it alot easier this is the harness for the transfer case I just pulled our of the z71.
The next two pictures are the vss signal plug connector on the tailshaft
Next is the 4wd indicator plug it's...
This was supposed to be second picture according to the pinout picture the reverse wires use the other green wire between the neutral safety wires. I will post which one is rite when i wire mine up.
That is the wiring printout for the 4l60e range selector / neutral safety switchs 7 wire connector. There's also a 4 wire connector but none of those wires are needed. For a 5 speed conversion we need pins C E F and G on the seven wire connector. Pins G and E are for the neutral safety switch...
One other thing i want to fix on this truck is that if you leave it off for more than an hour she won't start unless you prime it by cycling the fuel pump 3 or 4 times then she fires rite up what can cause that?
