What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have never understood the point of the "tapacrap". Most of my phones for the last 5+ years have browsed forums beautifully. What's the idea behind that junk?? I'm feeling brave like I want to do some mechanical work this weekend!! We will see what happens in the morning. I'm getting the itch...

    Cluster swspped. Battery light on??

This is why the clusters are internally diff on the 05-06 compared to 03-05. Everything working as it should BUT the battery light on due to that internal circuit missing on my 03-04 cluster that the truck expects to be there since my rig is an 05. I'm just going to have my stock cluster rebuild...

    Cluster swspped. Battery light on??

Found my answer as to why light is on. 03-04 clusters appear to be internally different compared to 05-06 clusters. Something to do with the battery circuit and a function called State of Health. Now I'm curious if anyone knows if this 03-04 cluster can be easily program to work correctly in my...

2006 Esky - New to me!

Man this is a super clean ride. Quit mind facking yourself and drive it! Happens all the time, we start wondering about other possibilities and don't appreciate what's parked out front.

    Considering selling my Esky

Holy smokes!! I'd be in an 2014+ tahoe for that kind of change. To the OP: Your selection of vehicles to move up to is nice BUT neither of those rides is in the same category as the big body escalade. What were you driving before you got the Cadi?? Those other vehicles are definitely a lot...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thanks. What attached were you working with on the grinder?? My apologies for the noob question but I don't pull out the grinder I have very often. I have cut off wheels for it but nothing else. I think the cast aluminum calipers would look great behind my black wheels but I'm a fan of blue as...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Wow. Impressive. I’m jealous of the coil over setup!!! If you don’t mind what did that cost you?? I have an itch for it. I really need to get off my butt and install my Moog upper and lower LCAs. My 2020 4 piston calipers are also collecting dust in the same corner of garage

    Radiator crapped out.

??? All I did was fill reservoir, turned truck on, let it idle on level street with front and rear heat on for about 20 minutes. Rechecked level and added a bit. No issues here with refilling. Did this last Thursday and all is cool over here

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

It's not about luck. Folks want to throw a gear box at a vehicle with busted up supporting pieces. My tie rods are new, my pitman/idler is new. I get where you are coming from because it's after market but even new Delco fails out of the box. I went with this because I would much rather walk...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I went with a Reman unit from AZ... The supplier is BBB industries and they arent in the business of supplying junk to all the parts houses. Everyone touting those redhead steering gears and the blue tops, but I found as much negative reviews on their products. My unit been on since Early this...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Excuse the ignorance but what led you to completing this repair?? I have seen several discussions on upper and intermediate shafts in the recent months. My rig showing upwards up 245k miles and if I should replace before major failure I'm all for it. I don't like letting things completely fail...

Dropped new Delco Rad in this morning. Looks like truck was running on OEM radiator as well and it failed at lower driver side corner. PLease make sure you have a decent pair of hose clamp pliers or 2 or 3!!! They are a pain in the rear. i spent more time jacking with the hose clamps than...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah. I will know for sure Saturday morning. I don't see why anything else would be leaking coolant on that side all of a sudden. I replaced all new hoses back in Jan when I did the water pump

After all that work...probably getting rid of the Yukon

I'm confused what the OP is wanting to hear. I mean if he can afford to pay cash for Damm near any car he wants, why are we even having the discussion??

After all that work...probably getting rid of the Yukon

This is by far the best advise I have seen. Lots of self inflicted issues. WHy take a job an hour away?? IM assuming it pays well and its worth it? So then buck up and foot the gas bill, move closer or find a lesser paying job closer to home. You just cant go around making those kind of...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Bought a vdo/continental rear blower motor from AZ, transferred my old wheel. I also picked up a standard motors resistor for auto temp. That one hurt me as it was only available in one flavor!!
