Back on the 'how can you afford' topic
A typical measure is not to exceed 1/2 annual income being tied up in depreciating assets.
I haven't really given that angle much thought, I've more so been; don't borrow money for cars / toys.
But the more I think about it, the more I'm liking the...
to be able to tell it is a refresh, even if it was just an interior update (t style screen, some interior covering options, stuff like that to be on par with the competitors)
totally agree, powertrain issues are an indicator of quality, gm is on that struggle bus and the service experience isn't doing them any favors
To be fair to @DuraYuk per https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2021/11/18/consumer-reports-most-reliable-cars-trucks-suvs/6385214001/ those of us...
updates
- washer pump arrived, dealer has the repair scheduled for the 12th of December
- still no update on the GM Case from 2021 (case is still open, gm working diligently per my dealer)
Before this denali we have had near zero issues with other gm products that we have owned (tahoe's / denali's / 1500 pickups / 2500 pickups / z28's / corvette's). Spending this much time at the gm dealer is a new experience for us.
I'm pretty sure we all understand the design.
Personally, I consider any necessary engine component failure a quality problem, they shouldn't happen at 30k. This is why the gasser's are getting slammed right now in GM land.
I just had this play out in Ram land, I have an addon which lets me fully disable the part of traction control which doesn't let the wheels spin in 4x4. The addon has a lifetime warranty, all very nice. But when it failed in a way which caused intermittent 'service trailer system' alarms on...
wife was talked into installed 3rd party systems in a few of her trucks, the last 2 failed in epic fashions (intermittent no start, random alarms, very fun stuff); both installed by dealers addon shop so they got to point at themselves and argue in house
i can only imagine how this would play...
wife's denali has the same issue
While it was in the dealer for a different issue I mentioned it. Per the dealer you need to lubricate the running boards; they said to make sure I mentioned it when they did the oil changes so they could ensure it happens :). They lubed the boards and have...
have the horn wire rerouted so the thieves can't get to it
a 3rd party doesn't help this issue
a 3rd party alarm will be a complete mess at some point in the future when it fails, strong suggestion to not own it with that happens
If you find anything please post your findings; I haven't been able to find options in GM land, even talking to the dealers, they look at me like I have 3 eyes.
In BMW / Ram / Jeep land you can buy 'packs' of oil changes / rotates / balances etc. For example, you buy a 3 pack and have a set...
Wife's denali has the gm mats; the cargo area mats are nearly useless for 2 reasons:
1) doesn't stay attached to the 3rd row seat back
2) when laid down you can't slide a heavy object from the back to the front (loading large suitcases for example) as the suitcase catches the hinge part...
I bet if you had it idle then went under the hood you'd be able to see/hear something rattling. It'll need to be against the back of the engine so it could hit the firewall.
I mean can't you get 33" tires to fit by getting wheels with different offsets then then stock tires? Vs having to lift.
I have a 2008 with a 4.5 lift and a ton of cutting to fit tracks, the lift really destroyed the ride.

Just had a success; truck was in for different warranty work and the technician solved a hyper annoying clicking noise. I thought it was the HVAC fan, turned out to be a loose cable in the engine bay.
lemon law process is specific to the state you are in; search for the intel and just follow the steps; skip the lawyer and save yourself a pile, the process is defined the lawyer doesn't help you
good friend of mine has done 2 GMC lemon law buy backs; basically flow is that they reimburse you...
at engine idle; HVAC fan on the lowest setting
there was a clicking noise coming from the dash on the passenger side; sounds like the fan was hitting something
if you changed the fan speed (anything but low) or rev'd the engine the noise would go away
The tech found that the oxygen sensor cord...
Alignments are covered during the first x miles and y months (it's like 7500 miles and 12 months); so no.
Yah, the report was provided and you can see it when you drive through the service bay, this Denali has been in the dealer quite a bit; it's probably been run through the auto checker 20...
Comparing what you describe to the Denali my wife received; I'd say this is normal. Previous GM's we've gotten had better paint but worse interior fit/finish.
Are folks seeing more frequent alignments necessary on the 2021+ suv's?
Asking as the wife's '21 denali was aligned at delivery when we swapped tires and now at 30k the rear is out of spec. Dealer's drive through system caught it (no odd tire wear or driving characteristics), dealer is saying...
