What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I tried my hardest with picks and a long thin flathead, but the guts of that clamp are between the rack tube and the frame, and I just can't seem to get it unclasped. I just took it for a short drive to listen to the exhaust and didn't really test out the steering. To be honest, my bushings...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Circled back around to install part of the steering rack stiffening kit. This metal forked wedge thing required the removal of the front diff, so yeah that was fun to yank out and shove back up by myself laying on the driveway. At least the stiffener went in with no drama. I forgot to order a...

Just cast iron manifolds. Not ready to throw $$$ at LT headers, welding in cats, and a new tune when I just got the last iteration of my tune running decent.

That, and the bolt and "nut" rust to shít in a year. I feel like there should be a tapered seal that fits in the normal joint to help seal it up.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have an AP muffler, and I think it may have been the same one. It definitely has less drone than the MBRP clone muffler I have installed now, but it quiets down the overall sound as well. I wish I could have my current sound, but less interior drone. Might buy that QW muffler and play...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

He did! He provided some links to the formula calculator that let you design your own, if you knew the variables, like engine size, drone @RPM, etc... I actually spent some time looking for a part that was only the resonator tube attached to a short section of exhaust, so I could fit it inline...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So what did you go with? I'm toying with mufflers to leave the bark, but minimize drone in the SUV cabin, especially in the rear seat area. For some reason the drone is much worse back there. While looking for Doubeleive's Borla on ebay I stumbled on this curious muffler, and am thinking...

    New to catch can

Another catch-can trick is to loosely pack some stainless steel scrubbing pad material into the empty void. This creates more surface area for the oil dropless to adhear to. You should have the updated valve-cover design, and not have as much junk flowing through your PCV system to begin with.

You're a legend! I filed an insurance claim, and I'm waiting to see what the results are of that. If they cover it then I'm going to just replace it with a new one. I tinker often enough that it's probably worth it for me to have one on-hand. If it's not covered, then I'll reassess my life...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Some jerkface broke into my car at our Airbnb over the weekend. They stole a few things like a high-end IFAK/first-aid kit and my freaking AutoCAL V3. I had just cut the foam out of an Apache 2800 case to hold the scanner and cables on Thursday, and wanted to bring the scanner with me because...

    what next?

I've heard from some folks that gutting your 3rd cat helps with the sound. That cat is unmonitored, and won't affect emissions testing or performance (contrary to a lot of the ill-informed older posts on other forums). It was added (in 2010?) to make all GMT900s CA-compliant, even if they were...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

There's a lot of hose from the front tank to the rear wiper, and if there's a leak somewhere you may have to repressurize the entire line back to the truck, which can take a while. Either way, good luck on fixing the squirting issue.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

IIRC, there are two outlets (front sprayer & rear sprayer) on the tank that gets brittle with age & heat. The whole washer reservoir is a design failure, especially how you can't pour too fast into the opening or else fluid splashes out everywhere. On every other car I've owned, you could...

Forgot to add the finished pic after getting the better harmonic balancer screwed in, and the belts back on. You don't need the helper tool to get the A/C stretch-belt back on if you have strong fingers. I was also troubleshooting why my driver's foglight was always flickering, and...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Mucked around with the rig for a couple hours while the air temps were warm. I had ordered that steering rack stiffening kit off Amazon, which was mentioned in another post, that comes with a replacement polyurethane bushing for the passenger side, and a stamped steel insert to fill the voids...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Oh yeah.... Rust, mostly. The amount of salt and pre-treat/brine they dump on the roads around here is criminal, and everything underneath was crusty orange. When I attempted to move it two days ago so it would be lined up for the flatbed/trailer taking it away the fuel line blew right at the...

Cleared out some space this morning, for more Yukon projects, and ended up donating the Armada to charity. Goodnight, sweet prince..... you were the best.

Tired front struts, already replaced the rear with Bilsteins (not available for the front)

Yeah OP, there are two versions of Bilstein front struts for the GMT900: the 4600s, and 5100s. This is why it's always a smart thing to include vehicle info, as mentioned. Here are the 5100s: https://www.shocksurplus.com/products/bilstein-5100-monotube-shocks-bundcomperr-24-186940

New biscuits for the rig. Guys at the shop liked the cam chop and since I was the only one there we shot the breeze for a bit about the rebuilt engine/cam/tune stuff. Not like I particularly wanted to rush home to resume working. Tire specs... Thinking I want to clean and add some color...
