Thanks for all your efforts. And a bigger thanks for sharing real data. There is a lot of misinformation on this subject. You have provided real documented data. In the event or circumstance that you have access to a dod camshaft that has been removed, you can verify that the cam lobs are...
Actually the outer sleeve has the roller and maintains contact with and follows the camshaft lobe. The inner or middle sleeve has the visable spring attached to it and the these two components are locked together by the two hollow pins. The pins are spring loaded to maintain the locked...
Thank you for your interest, efforts, and for sharing this event. You may be the Smoky of the LS style engines.
I do want to learn your procedure for determining the location of the mid way point of each base circle. Did you have a degree wheel on the crankshaft? Did you have a degree wheel...
OMG finally. Please post it again! All pushrods are the same length! All pushrods are the same length!
I disassembled several of the dod lifters yesterday and will try to get photographs loaded into the computer. Probably not many posters are interested in seeing how the lifters can function.
So, did you confirm that the oem pushrods are different lengths yet? What is the length of the dod pushrods? What is the length of the non-dod pushrods?
Maybe you can measure the lengths of the two different length push rods and post the measurments here. Maybe note that the spring visable on the upper end of the dod lifter"s function is to keep the rocker arm, push rod and lifter internal plunger correctly positioned during the dod...
My theory on this is that the altered profile of the DOD lobes results in too little lift for the DOD cylinders when the non DOD lifters are installed; reducing the lift & duration on those cylinders which reduces the volume of air that is available for the compression stroke.
So, you have...
Restriction in the air intake system. Maybe foreign material or oem component loose or able to move and restrict air flow and move again to clear air way. Remove everything and wiggle test. Clear opening to fender well. Run vehicle with air filter and or housing removed if possible.
Looks like you have already checked or replaced the common failure items. So, maybe check the welds where the diferential mount are welded to the frame and all the frame welds. The front suspension may have to be loaded normally. Tires on ground type loads. So jack up the vehicle and sit the...
OEM bumpers, not likely. Aftermarket bumbers, maybe. I have never seen an OEM bumper for OEM winch, but that dont mean anything because both front eyes are dim and I only got hind sight.
Simplify the circuit. IF positive switched circuit: 12volts...plug in connections...switch...relays...load...ground connection.
If negative switched circuit: 12 volts...connections...load...switch....ground connection.
The high beam elements could have failed anytime. load test each bulb...
On cold starts. Key to run position, the fuel pump should operate of about 20 seconds then stop. If you have 20 lbs pressure, the pump has run and timed out and will not run until ecm senses oil pressure or the key is cycle off and back to run.
Check for spark at the spark plug, if no spark...
What about reviewing the cel codes and data stream? These data are real results of the engine operating conditions. Information is allways good and usefull, but data rules. The cooling system has three main and common leakage paths. One is to atmosphere via the system fill cap and and...
You can use the tow/haul function for every day operation and the PCM will recalibrate (after a number of drive cycles,) the engine controls to reflect the new driving style. You can also use the tow/haul function make the Escalada feel like a Camry in light to light driving.
I foget your year model, but I am thinking that the ECM/PCM controls voltage to the field coil, therefore controlling alternator output. And a battery with internal shorts/opens intermittently will cause eratic voltage output. And other circuits shorting and then loosing contact can also make...
The P1516 Chevy DTC indicates a potential issue with the TAC module. This code suggests that there is a malfunction or a communication problem between the TAC module and the Engine Control Module (ECM), which is responsible for managing various engine functions.
I encountered a 05 Suburban several years ago with those conditions and discovered the aspirator above the driver position was not functioning. Actually the wires had been clipped by someone. Two butt splices restored Hvac operation.
