If you know a really good port guy I would get the heads ported and yes they are desirable because they are the ls2 heads. On a tight budget those heads are good on larger displacements for that reason. They won’t flow upstairs as much as rectangle port but mast makes a set of carherdeal heads...
Use a larger compressed gasket size to lower it if you didn’t buy pushrods yet. No need to change the cam out then. Instead of using .040 use something like .080.

For the record I was considering 799 heads on a 6.2 to raise the compression for an N/A build and a cam and my static was 11.5 by dynamic was 6 and was safe to run pump gas. Change your cam if you don’t have enough bleed off.
mistake it was 8.7 and was safe enough for pump gas.
This must be related to COVID because they were never made to order. I was able to get many different ones at any given time from cometic. Summit had them in stock. Hard to get raw materials now so this might be why made to order.

Recharged my ac with stop leak. Hopefully it fixes it for now. Cleaned the areas that I thought were leaks. Hoping for the best. 1000 grams it took to get front and rear cold.
