What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This morning there was a puddle of fluid under my truck. Chased it down to a leaking hydroboost unit. I'm going to replace it with a new unit (I've seen rebuilding it with new gaskets can be hit or miss), but wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between these two units. I'd like to...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Was getting an occasional clunk when releasing the brake pedal after coming to a full stop, so tonight I removed the driveshaft and put some grease inside the slip yoke end of the driveshaft.

question on ordering front wheel bearing

In January 2018 I replaced my front wheel bearings with Timken SP450301 which are currently $133 each on Amazon. I paid around $120 for them 6.5 years ago which isn't bad from an inflationary standpoint. They've been great.

Has anyone repainted or recoated their glovebox door? Mine is starting to peel and I don't know that I want to spend money on a new/old stock replacement.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes. I crawled from the 2nd row into the cargo area, pulled the plastics back where they meet in the middle just below the latch. I was able to see just enough to move the actuator into the unlock position, then I was able to open it from the outside and take the interior plastics all the way off.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Tore into my rear hatch this afternoon and after working the existing actuator a few times, I've decided to not replace it yet and see what happens. It appears to be functioning again for the time being. I sprayed some silicone lubricant on the moving points/parts to see if that might help it...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well, I replaced my rear liftgate doorlock actuator at the end of June 2021 with an AC Delco OEM unit, and it just failed again today (I'm assuming, I haven't torn into it yet). Disappointing that the first one lasted 16 years and this one lasted 15 months. Any recommendations on what brand I...

Awesome! How hard was it to replace the compressor? I might be tackling this project this winter - the A/C in the Yukon doesn't seem to be able to keep up as well as it used to, and the compressor has been a bit noisy the last couple of years or so.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You could try jumping the plug for the low side switch with a paperclip or something similar to see if it forces the A/C clutch to engage. I probably should have mentioned this sooner... Skip to about 1:30 in the video.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Bad pressure switch perhaps? If it's taking refrigerant and not cycling/compressing, it's possible the switch is bad and keeping the compressor from kicking on. It's cheap and easy enough to replace that it might be worth it to fire up the parts cannon before you do something more labor intensive.

@blueinkd How are you liking the Z17 pads so far? I'm trying to decide between Z17 STOCK REPLACEMENT BRAKE KIT and Z23 EVOLUTION SPORT BRAKE UPGRADE KIT. Thanks!

The Schrader valve is leaking? Man, that sucks - I thought it was only the high side ball valve that had a habit of leaking as it gets older. Hey, at least you're too knowledgeable to fall for the shop quoting you on a full rebuild you don't need!

    Popping when turning slowly

This happened to me a few years back. Finally gave up and took it to the dealer for them to diagnose, and they removed the cross member bolts, cleaned the mating surface, and reinstalled them and torqued to spec. That seemed to fix my issue.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced my front windshield washer fluid pump this evening. Took about an hour (would take less now that I know what I’m doing) and cost $25 for a new AC Delco pump/grommet from Amazon. Turns out you don’t have to remove the battery tray or fluid reservoir as long as you can work by feel from...

I returned from a family vacation in orange beach, AL tonight. Drove more than 1,500 miles round trip and crossed 243k on the way home today.

    Drop in oil pressure

I'm not using a PF-61e. As stated earlier, I've been using ACDelco PF46E oil filters for at least 3 years. I'm the original owner and can guarantee the dipstick is original.

    Drop in oil pressure

Based on the feedback in this thread, I think I'm just going to keep driving it as is with no changes. I've read online that minimum oil pressure spec per GM is 10 PSI per 1k RPM, and if that's truly the case maybe I shouldn't worry about it until it drops below that threshold.

    Drop in oil pressure

Great point - I have used nothing but AC Delco PF46E filters for at least the last few years. Prior to that I used Wix, Mobil 1, or NAPA Gold so I've always used what I consider to be "good" oil filters, based on what I've read online. Can you clarify your mention of the owner's manual calling...

    Drop in oil pressure

Updated the OP for a little more detail that PSI seems to be normal when the truck is moving, my main concern is with PSI at idle when the motor is hot. I forgot to mention I used Liqui Moly motor oil flush in June 2021 without any change, so I'm not sure an engine flush is going to fix the low...
