    Drop in oil pressure

Yes, it is. While driving, it is at or above 40 psi. Yes, in May 2021 my oil pressure gauge spiked to 80 psi permanently. I tracked this down to the oil pressure sensor, and after replacement, it has been operating as expected since. I have no reason to believe the gauge is reporting...

    Drop in oil pressure

Hey guys, up until about a year ago my truck would hold a minimum of 40 psi oil pressure at idle no matter whether the motor was cold, or warm. After a 6 hour each way trip in March of 2021, I noticed my "hot" oil pressure was around 30 psi. As this summer has set in, I've noticed the hot idle...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hey guys, up until about a year ago my truck would hold a minimum of 40 psi oil pressure no matter the conditions. After a 6 hour each way trip in March of 2021, I noticed my "hot" oil pressure was around 30 psi, and last weekend after a 2 hour trip it was hovering around 25 psi. Background...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hit a milestone today. Things have been quiet on the truck front lately which is always good news. Forgive how filthy the gauges are. I really need to clean it.

Those clamps are hard connections you cannot remove, if I remember correctly. You might need to find an OEM replacement for the entire assembly.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I think you are having the same issue I did a few years back. My truck started having an occasional hard start condition where I had to crank it 2-3 times, and then it would still be very hesitant to start "strong". After some diagnosing with a fuel pressure gauge, I found that the pressure...

Loss of electrical power when turning the key; 2002 Z71 Tahoe

Yes it does! No, I haven't, but the issues I've experienced (my wife's Jeep and, just yesterday, my friend's 2013 GMC Yukon Denali) were both top post clamp mounts that were causing the issues. Given that you've eliminated battery connection issues, I'm thinking one of the following scenarios...

Loss of electrical power when turning the key; 2002 Z71 Tahoe

Good steps, and here's hoping it fixes the problem. Random questions: are you using the factory side mount battery connections, or are you using top post battery clamps?

Changing coolant in a 2004 Tahoe z71 with rear heat

Yes, if you can park nose downhill or lift the rear, that will be better for draining. Similarly, it would help to have the nose uphill/front end lifted when you're burping the system.

Loss of electrical power when turning the key; 2002 Z71 Tahoe

I would have your battery and alternator tested first, just to check the easy boxes before diving in to more complex problem solving. Assuming your battery and alternator are good, it may be a loose cable connection problem. My wife's previous car, a Jeep GC, had this same thing happen on...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

If I'm being honest, I've dealt with it this way for about 4 years now LOL. Just finally got tired of the wind noise/turbulence and decided to try something to fix it.

If the thermostat isn't closing and is allowing free flow of coolant, the coolant isn't sitting long enough to soak the heat off the motor, so makes sense that the motor would be heating up like a son of a gun, right? And when metal gets hot, it expands, which could be why your truck is running...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I gave up on finding a good fix for my sunroof wind deflector, and instead installed a relatively low profile sunroof deflector. Definitely an improvement over not having anything deflecting the wind, especially on the highway. Link...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I would agree that the thermostat is the most logical culprit here. Thankfully it's relatively easy (and cheap) to replace so I'd say go for it.

Got home tonight from a 900 mile, 6 day trip to the Branson, MO area. Hit 238,000 on the way home! It snowed while we were there, but overall the weather was great.

This wasn't done to my GMT800, but it was done to my garage in which I do all the things to my GMT800. Does that count?

I would since you have efficiencies in your favor. If you don't, and the wheel bearings or seal on the other side go out, you're going to have to do most of the same work again. Might as well do it all at once since parts aren't that expensive.

question on ordering front wheel bearing

I would recommend you purchase Timken brand bearings, once you determine which part number you need for your application.
