What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not yet (and hopefully no problems will come up at all) but if anything comes up or comes to mind, I'll be sure to post up here. It was a bit unnerving seeing them use a sawzall with a scraper attachment to remove the glue/sealant when removing the old windshield, but I haven't noticed any...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally bit the bullet and replaced my 16 year old original windshield today. I've been working on and off with the owner of the glass company for almost 2 months trying to decide what brand of glass would make my obsessive compulsive personality happy for the next 5-10 years... We settled on...

    OEM Head Unit Problem HELP!

I'm completely at a loss to explain this. I wish I could help more.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Apparently the GMT800 is notoriously reliable and long lasting enough to make it into a trailer for a show that takes place 500 years in the future: https://jalopnik.com/can-you-spot-the-552-year-old-chevy-tahoe-in-the-traile-1848451619

    OEM Head Unit Problem HELP!

I think this is the issue. From my limited understanding, Bose system is completely different than a non-Bose system, so it's possible the Bose amp/speakers aren't recognizing (or getting the right signals from) your single CD head unit.

    Sunroof issues

There is a drip rail that is horizontal across the sunroof, and moves back and forth as the glass is opened and closed. Mine came off track and bent the guide rails that pull the sunroof shade towards the front a few inches as the glass closes. I had to fish this out to get the glass to open...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just a follow up to this for anyone who tries this and experiences something similar. I'm not sure if I installed the new bulbs incorrectly, or if the new bulbs were slightly longer/taller than the factory bulbs, but my switches for Auto and floor/dash/defrost, along with most buttons along the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Interesting. What year model is your truck, and what motor does it have? I didn't change my spark plugs and wires until around 200k and can't say I noticed any difference in power, idle smoothness, or fuel mileage (not that I was having any problems, just decided to finally change them out...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

For what it's worth mine is a 2005 flex fuel and does not have a separate FPR or a (serviceable) fuel filter.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Strange, my FPR is integrated into my fuel pump and is nothing like what's shown in the video. In older GMT800's, the FPR was located on the fuel rail close to the firewall and was easy to access and replace. I had to replace my fuel pump around 120k miles because the FPR was failing, and...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge. When you turn the key on (not starting), the fuel pump will prime the pressure. If the pressure starts to bleed off rapidly after the pump stops running, you have a bad FPR.

Yep, I’m afraid a rebuild is in the not too distant future.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

FYI, after driving for the last couple of weeks, this hasn't changed the behavior of my transmission, sadly.

Replaced the backlighting in my HVAC controls this morning. Pretty tedious, but better than having to buy a new one.

How to fix brake switch (not replace)

Did you install LED brake light bulbs? I've seen this causes the issue you describe if you don't include an inline resistor of some sort. Additionally, does your horn work?

No oil pressure at start up, 2001 Tahoe

I agree 100%. I did this in an afternoon on my 2WD Yukon. If you have a 4WD, it will be a little more difficult since from what I understand you have to drop the front differential.

No oil pressure at start up, 2001 Tahoe

Based on what I'm seeing online, I would estimate $500.

I'd never heard of it either, but apparently there are slight differences: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/dexron-iii-instead-of-dexron-vi-gulp.58707/ https://montecarloforum.com/forum/general-monte-carlo-talk-9/dexron-vi-vs-dexron-iii-vs-high-mileage-atf-51210/

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I last changed my transmission fluid around 200k miles, and since then I've had a recurring occasional slip from a dead stop, as well as an occasional hesitation when downshifting to pass on the highway. After doing some reading, it seems the symptoms may be traced back to my using Dexron 6...

You’re welcome! My truck is 100% stock from the factory, I haven’t added or changed anything. My ambient temp readings appear accurate. Edited to add: yes, it had efans from the factory.

I spray it on this applicator and then wipe on the tire. And yes, it gets everywhere if I don't really spread it thin on the tire and let it sit for a while before I go for a drive.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Guys, this is a "what did you do to your truck today", not "come in here and swing your purses at each other". ;) Keeping the theme of the thread going, yesterday I applied Chemical Guys Tire Shine to my tires for the first time. I'll see how well the shine holds up, but applying it was much...

Looks great! What do you use for tire shine? I have some Armor All Gel that's a pain to work with, and I'm looking for something easier to manage.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'm getting really sick of my Yeti-style cups and water bottles falling all over when sitting in my cup holders. Does anyone know of a solution that maybe fits inside the factory cup holders to stabilize taller drink cups/bottles?
