I'm kind of in the same boat with my Colorado. Part of me wants to keep it and throw my 5.3 in it when I pull it out of my Tahoe. It's already a built truck and 5 spd swapped
In regards to the texture on the calipers, I'm going to hit them with a 36grit flapper wheel on my die grinder. It will make fast work of it.
I'll post up some pictures when I get to it.
The conversion is pretty much a straight up bolt on application.
I'd love to do a how to for y'all, but I have to mill them down and send them out for powdercoating.
Yes, very similar.
These calipers run on a 13.5 or 13.6 rotor. So definitely an upgrade and no longer have to deal with sticking/seized caliper slide pins FTW
I just marker and took a picture of where the rotor was before i pulled the old distributor, then when I installed the new one I lined it up. Pain in the dick job and was a clear reminder of why I prefer fuel injected/individual coil systems
I don't have this measurements, but I can get the pistons sizes off the new caliper. I bought one awhile back for test fitting.
I'll report back in a bit with that
Depending on what year Duramax you have it doesn't surprise me. I've seen 2 customers at the shop sell their new Duramax trucks for older/pre - DEF models
I think the last set up pad was under $100.
Once I went with the Wilwood BP30 pads......it was perfection. So I would write off Wilwood because of the base pads. I guess I should note that I'm hard on brakes because of my driving style.
The stopping power and weight savings are amazing.
I wish I could score the '21 PPV brakes.
I ordered the standard '21 Tahoe front calipers. They're a fixed 4 piston caliper, they got a fuckin shit ton more clamping power by design.
I still need to get pads and rotors....but those are easy to get. The calipers have been on a national back...
Will I build a Wilwood kit for my Colorado, the base BP10 Wilwood pads suck......they fade and I think I got 10,000 miles out of them. I replaced them with the BP30 Wilwood pads.....no fade and I have 15,000 miles on them so far.
As far as milling the caliper for proper wheel fitment, plenty...
