2004 6.0 NV4500 Tahoe
Got the factory style efan harness the PO installed out of the Tahoe, man it’s roached. No idea what caused the issue other than it appeared to have melted at some splices, not sure if I did those or he did. I know the first bit of efan trouble I had was relays burning up. Spent 3 hours shampooing this turd today. Not new looking but atleast it smells nice. I’ve had great momentum working on my new to me gmc a few hours in the morning and an hour or so in the evening when it’s still fairly cool so I think I’m gonna transition that time to the Tahoe. Got my LMC order and got the grill on. Put the temporary bumper on but only with a few half tight bolts because I’m missing two brackets and need a floor jack to help tweak a few things into place better. Started cleaning up the interior and found some dark staining, looks like from dark soda probably mixed with alcohol. He was notorious for driving around with a 64oz big gulp full of rum and coke or vodka and lime. Also found two cans of tomato paste, I’ll be sure to drink them in his memory...- Dantheman1540

A couple more things I’ve found. -brake lights don’t work at all, not turn signals or reverse lights ether. I already installed an aftermarket replacement set maybe they don’t work with it for some reason. It was the crank sensor being unplugged actually lol. Fired up first bump after I plugged that in and it drives great! 4x4 works great, AC blowing cold, couldn’t be happier so far!- Dantheman1540

Made a bunch of progress today. -Installed the oil cooler adapter with new seals. -Installed oil cooler lines into adapter. -Added new oil and oil filter. -Removed 2” spacers from up front and replaced them with 1.5” making the front to rear width almost perfectly even having 3”in rear...- Dantheman1540

Uhg no kill me before I have to go scrap yard digging for something this hard to get to. Did the early 60es also have that line configuration? I have and I only see what I think is it in a 3 line kit and listed as for a 4l60e. Which is suss to me- Dantheman1540

Got a bunch done today! Started by removing the basked in rear bumper and fitting the new Tahoe bumper. Had just enough time today to mount the 2” spacers and new/used forged power wagon wheels and tires. I’m thinking either the front needs .5” less spacer, or the rear needs another .5-1”. Progress from yesterday I forgot to take pics of. Got all the damaged core support and junk out, frame has such little damage I got real lucky with this one. Oh yeah I got it all! The grill guard is aluminum which is sweet because I’ll actually put it on since it doesn’t weigh 200#, needs paint tho. The fogs are in good shape, as was their harness, but I will likely replace them with some aftermarket amber street legal fogs that don’t blind people...- Dantheman1540

Turns out my buddy and I are color blind. I spent 3 hours crawling around in the dirt pulling all the parts off the Tahoe only to find it’s a slightly lighter color gold. Not sure how we missed that but oh well, the parts are straight and it’s close enough for now. Also got the new/recycled...- Dantheman1540

I’m getting everything in the front, I mean everything I want he said and since it runs and drives I’ll actually probably take the radiator and whatnot just for initial rebuild. Just verified yes it’s 100% a 9.5 which I’m happy with! I have a powder coated diff cover that will find its way in as soon as the truck is moveable under its own power lol. Didn’t realize brakes sucked so bad, might very well have a shop do them. I don’t really care if the truck looks dumb...- Dantheman1540

I hope it has the 9.5, I can’t imagine I’d ever hurt a 9.5 with 250hp and I already have parts for them. My goal is to have a mostly stock tow rig, I figure the 5.7 with small tires and the 4.10s should pull a standard car hauler trailer with another car or truck on it fine.
