I'm gonna do some research and get this block painted. Sprayed it down with WD-40 until I figure something out

Got my engine back, barely had enough room to weasel into the garage. This Ford is the perfect block hauler... I thought this thing was gonna be cleaner, still has rust and factory paint on it. I guess I probably didn't ask for the right service, idk. But I'm thinking about painting it, mainly...

Machine shop called, and all is good with the block and heads. Parts pile still growing, GM knock sensors, oil pressure sender, and cam sensor. Bunch of gaskets, oil pump, lifters, springs, valve guide hats, head bolts, barbell, rings, GM rear cover. This shit really adds up, lol.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Machine shop called. Heads pressure tested good, cam bearing hole isn't wallered out, and magnaflux showed zero cracks. Now to decide if I should just slap these pistons in or go to flat top, or 5.7. I'm gonna ask for some prices when I pick the block up, that should push me towards re-using the...

Any of you have one? What should I run in it? Diesel?

Grabbed this parts washer for 25 bucks. It was missing the hinge and shelf area though, so I had to buy this other one for 25 to use for parts, lol

ARP really is proud of those bolts... I ordered stock head bolts and crank bolt, if I have to tear this thing apart again I'm gonna be sad though lol. I thought about getting the ARP main studs, but I might just toss these old ones back in...

If they have electrolytes, I might have to get them anyway! I see you are a fellow man of culture... The LS7 lifters are supposed to be .050 taller or something. I need to do a bunch of research and measuring before I will know. I've read the stock ones will work. But I'd rather get this as...

I might end up needing those 7.350 pushrods! Im gonna wait until I get closer to start worrying about them though

The one bad review on the CHE trunions I found was a guy who put the sharp side towards the bushing and was finding brass in his oil. He didn't sound happy

I should probably go back to stock, but those fancy ones will stroke my ego, lol

So the shaft style rockers use clips too, so they aren't any better I take it? I might go ahead and grab the che kit to review for the forum. I was just gonna get the btr captured ones, but read about them possibly being the rebranded comp ones.

I should probably change mine. I was gonna try to reflow the solder on mine. It moved down to number 2 on the list though.

I guess the cup on LS7 lifters sets up .050 higher. I I'm measuring pushrod length. Gonna order the tool...

This one has 294k, so hopefully it fixes the hotdog down the hallway situation. I didn't know they were bigger, I'm gonna have to get the caliper out and check. Whatever I looked at said they would work, so hopefully I don't wind up with a set of lifters for sale...

I got the $159 lifters from btr. https://briantooleyracing.com/delphi-hydraulic-lifter-set-ls7-x12499225-16.html They said their lifter trays were the same as OEM so I went ahead and took the 15 dollar gamble. I'm kinda wishing I would have got OEM now that I typed that lol. I wanted tie-bar...

    Walchit's 2000 XL

Looking like I will need to hone my rods .002 to fit the floating pins. My buddy works at a machine shop, but they don't do engines, just these dies/cutting blades for some machine. But I'm fairly confident the guy that owns the place could do it. I will have to ask the machine shop what they...

It was on Facebook, I'm not a knock sensor expert, but I'm not sure if the guy was seriously installing them there or not. It was probably on the page "GMT800's with threatening auras" lol

Guess I never updated this thread after I lost oil pressure and started knocking on my first long test drive. It rode really nice at 75-80 on the highway though, lol Those of you in the what did you do to your 800 today thread, know about the 294k engine I grabbed from the junkyard to rebuild...
