My 13 LTZ has K5L and they are a beast, pulls insane air but also loud as heck on high. Ill have to check tomorrow if they are rimmed or not.

    Door panel fix

When I bought my 13 about 4 years ago, I had a crunchy passenger handle that was coming apart. Took the panel off, took the chunks out and placed them back in order, then added some metal strips to reinforce and epoxied the whole thing back together internally. Looks OEM. In hindsight I...

Police vs Civilian front brakes (again, sorry)

Its the calipers is where its at.....they use high temp silicone and phenolic pistons. I did the police calipers, Hawk pads and R1 carbon Geomet slotted rotors that I had Cryo treated. Drive it like my Vette and 4 years later no warp.

Good Old Random Cylinder Misfire Mystery

Run it warmed up at idle with a scanner/app that shows O2 sensors live going up and down……get a propane torch and NOT LIT spray propane around the injector orings and see if the O2 hangs high. My vette stumped my for years with issues till I did this and all injector orings were hard as glass.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Do you mean turn the entire AC system off, or just the compressor off for a moment? My guess is that high rpms are sucking down the low side causing it to cycle off. If you mean it shuts if off completely then I would assume for compressor protection due to high rpms?

    Evaporator/ refrigerant temp sensor

Sounds like a Tech2 needs to be hooked up to see any sensors or AC request status.

    Evaporator/ refrigerant temp sensor

If your AC keeps freezing (I assume you mean the evap is getting so cold that ice is forming?) then you either have low air flow through the evap and or possible low refrigerant charge.

    Transmission speed govern

USA trucks/SUVs were mostly limited at 95. My 93 Tahoe/blazer, 99 Tahioe, 2013 Tahoe LTZ and my 2000 F350 DRW 7.3 were all limited at 95 and all mine got removed. Of all of them the LTZ with the active suspension rides as stiff as my Vette at those speeds and handles pretty good, but stopping...

    Towing 10k with 2500 Suburban

Towing heavy is serious. Don’t skimp just because it can, mostly. There is a nice warm cozy feeling you get when you have way more truck than trailer. For my 7500 lb TT I tow it with a 2000 F350 DRW 7.3, my Tahoe felt unsafe.

Gas tank Protection gas theft prevention

I use 9mm or .45 If available. E85 doesn’t have enough punch. Or if I wanna go high octane I’ll go with .308.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

While replacing my water pump and radiator last week I just happened to spin the tensioner while I had it in my hand…..glad I did. Sounded so dry and rough I bet it would have failed in a few thousand miles. Easy to check!!

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well, changed the leaking water pump, thermostat, and cracked radiator. All aluminum radiator from Alloyworks 3 row for $300. It’s 1-3/4” thick versus stock 1” on my LTZ with K5L cooling. Stock rad seemed very slim for “heavy duty cooling”. When I had to use the Tahoe to tow my 7500 lb travel...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just doing quick checks since my AGM battery at 19 months is failing and under warranty but on national back order…….filled the windshield fluid and noticed the coolant was low. Filled it and found a leak on drivers side 2” crack in tank. Awesome. One trans cooler line leaking, one oil cooler...
