What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

HPT. Had a shop turn off AFM, the speed governor and the rear O2s cuz I was planning on long tubes eventually. Passed emissions multiple times after. Had it tuned again for the cam and mods and it passed that one time I had it inspected after that. If it weren't for the tint, I'd still be...

08 suburban LTZ 5.3 misfire at idle

Dammit. I was really hoping it was just the classic VLOM failure. That really sounds like a lifter or something in the valve train. Now I'm wondering if the old VLOM failed and took out a lifter and just did the same thing to the new lifter(s). Or, one of your new components is defective...

2004 GMC Yukon XL1500 electrical issues

I'd double-check all wiring surrounding the engine. Could be a loose ground or wire harness pinched or misrouted and cut, causing intermittent shorting. The computers in these things, especially the BCM, does weird stuff with excessive voltage fluctuations, shorts and/or power losses. Start...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Only the past two years. Had O2s and other things turned off in '17, so I've passed four emissions inspections with it, the final one in '21 with it cammed/modded with no cats. No visual inspections here although that's easy enough to pass. I don't believe they've changed anything in the testing.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Unless they look at more stuff or look deeper in CA, I never had a problem passing with my rear O2 codes turned off. All readiness monitors set just fine.

My immaculate '95 Tahoe 2-Door- I doubled the horsepower

Of course not. You're just relevant elsewhere in addition to the '91-'99 forum. You don't lose the "badges" you've already earned. That was me welcoming you.

    Power loss

If knocking on it from various sides with a rubber mallet or handle of a hammer or block of wood makes it act up, it could be a faulty internal connection(s). Next step is to unlock and separate the two halves to inspect for corrosion. Align the top with the bottom and shove it into place...

    Power loss

Beat me to it. Sounds like OP's actually cleaning the connections, though. Good to confirm this. @jerwilso, I agree with checking the fuse & relay center. Try to knock it around a bit with the key on and engine running. See if any of the weirdness happens.

High school student and new to trucks and cars in general.

Looks good! You're fortunate to have received such a nice ride as your first. I'm impressed that your first plan of action is to make sure it's up to par before diving into the mods. I don't recall any teen with their first car asking about this, but how many subs and how big of wheels can...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

I like the decals. Adds a lot of interest. A plain red box would be boring. It takes a long time to accumulate such a collection and it should be admired. Besides, who wants the labor of removing all of 'em? I'd add to 'em, probably with RA magnets. Maybe remove and replace the duplicate...

    Replacement muffler

+1 for AP XS mufflers. Cherry Bomb now has their copy, if not the exact same just in their packaging. Their part numbers are the same, just with "SAxxxx" instead of "XSxxxx". They're sometimes a little cheaper.

Picked up this dope android head unit for my burban

Interesting. I've only seen Apple Carplay via WiFi reserved for the really expensive HUs. Most use Bluetooth if wireless at all. There's a lot more wireless options available for Android, though.

    Broken fuel injector lock clip

A few broke on my brother's '05. I secured them with zip-ties. No problems for almost 5 years and 40,000+ miles and counting.

Want to take my 2010 Yukon XL Denali with 180,000 miles for a family trip from Michigan To Florida - Can you help me make this a success!

Your environment (temperatures and humidity) will affect how much moisture you have in your PCV system. It seems that this is a lot more common in colder areas. Maybe even more midwestern. Never get it here. This is why cars subjected to lots of short trips can have bearing failures despite...

Want to take my 2010 Yukon XL Denali with 180,000 miles for a family trip from Michigan To Florida - Can you help me make this a success!

Thanks for that info! I recall once when I had my door panel off that there were a few pieces of sound dampener "tiled" around on the backside of the door skin. I should've taken a pic. I also noted a piece of dense foam behind the sail panel to insulate where the mirror is secured.

    Welding broken fender

Like @strutaeng said: Practice, practice, practice. But, you gotta practice with the right tools and materials. I didn't know that flux core welder was AC lol. If that's the case, you're doubly screwed cuz you're welding with no shielding as that wire isn't flux core. You might actually be a...

I'd like to know the same about my LTZ versus Escalade and the LT and LS models. That's some obscure info that only James @swathdiver might know.

Weeellllll... You can can finagle that one bolt that holds the pickup tube to the pump a tiny bit at a time. For the hassle, I'd drop the pan. You don't have to remove it, though. Remove the bolts and let it rest on the cross member or diff. Still, it's a PITA and you risk dropping the bolt...
