    Catch can flow discussion

It's the same on a Gen 3 as it is on a Gen 4. The Gen 3 car engines (LS1, etc.) had a slightly different setup since they were more hi-po with more vacuum, higher RPM, etc. and the TB sucked from both valve covers.

    Catch can flow discussion

Correct-ish. The fitting on the intake manifold that you'll connect the hose from the catch can is at the top center, not near the TB. It's where the factory hose is going. The catch can is just spliced inline in that circuit from the back of the valve cover to the top center of the manifold...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Actually, since they'd be the same otherwise, you could do your write-up and cop my pics to add in to show the alternate routing for those with the firewall-mounted fuse. It requires an additional wire made to go from the battery + to the fuse- maybe a 2' length at most.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I like the idea of one with the newer style with the battery-mounted fuse. I might be doing another like mine (firewall-mounted fuse), but I don't know when. I'll be sure to document the steps. I kinda did with the one in my build thread but it's broken up and not a clean how-to. I also used...

Want to take my 2010 Yukon XL Denali with 180,000 miles for a family trip from Michigan To Florida - Can you help me make this a success!

Ah. This makes sense. I just checked their site and they have a dealer in New Orleans. I was an overhead door tech in a past life and, while servicing one at their shop, I chatted with the owner. They are certainly passionate about their craft.

More new OEM wheel noob questions

According to wheel-size.com, your stock 20" wheels are 20x8.5 with a +31mm offset. This means that the wheel mounting pad is 31mm towards the outside of the wheel's center line. With a wheel that's 8.5" wide, the center line would be at 4.25" from either rim lip. The WMP is 31mm from that...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

That's what I was insinuating- that the fuse could've been removed or blown by previous usage. I've never checked mine. I hope I think to check it if I ever tap it for anything and it doesn't work.

More new OEM wheel noob questions

That 2mm difference in offset doesn't mean a thing. It's less than 1/13th of an inch. We can all give our opinions, but it's your truck and your preferences. Personally, I prefer six spokes if it has six lugs. Maybe it's a balance thing, but it satisfies my mind and eye. I also strongly...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Constant hot is constant hot. It should've worked. Unless, that constant hot wasn't actually a constant hot, like if it was for a trailer brake or the power for an RV plug. Which, I think it'd need the fuse installed to actually make it hot. I think my fuse & relay center has two terminals...

Escalade Roof Rack and How to

You would need a rack from an Escalade. The SRX is mid-size SUV with a very different rack.

I checked their site and only saw a catalog. What was the price on that unit? My Tahoe Twin is putting together a parts list to delete AFM and head off any common weak points from his '09. Actually, in recalling your build, I advised him to check with Cam Motion for a recommendation on a...

Build Log: Down8's Tahoe Has a Nickname

Hmm. Maybe it's actually really smart. I've been told I have magic hands and my fingers are like- well, never mind. Doesn't matter here. Let's move on.

I don't take take it personally- it's a program that doesn't "know" any better. I've had it happen seemingly randomly to me but thought it was because it detected large amounts of skin in an image. I think I was posting a pic where I was holding a part or something. I figured it saw my huge...

 This is why we have to have BSMs. I park waaay out in the open. Maybe half the time, when I come out of the store or mall, there's an "enthusiasts" car, like a Mustang or Charger, parked behind, ahead or next to me but with an empty spot in between us.

That's pretty much it other than solder if you wanna do that. I soldered and crimped mine because I'm a geek. Being a 2010, yours will have a different factory routing since the main fuse is on the battery. I used marine battery terminals cuz my main fuse is on the firewall. I think we've...

    Stupid question about spacers

I ran 1.5" spacers on my Tahoe for a while and they've been on my brother's truck for years now. Personally, I wouldn't use larger than 2". Definitely get hub centric and from a reputable brand.

Welcome to TYF! Oh, so the black ones all look the same to you, huh? 4"+ lift? Or, use the features you've paid for- Your fob should look like this: That red button at the bottom is your "P.A.N.I.C". button. It stands for "Proximal Assistance for Nincompoop to Identify Car"...

If they charged you for it, take it back. If not, you can flush the fluid yourself in about an hour. No special tools needed. I believe it'd be standard, but cleaning up the shifts, torque converter clutch actions and throttle response would be the main thing. You shouldn't suffer any...

I don't know the specifics, but it seems the converter in the 6L80 is a weak point. The sloppy tuning and converter are at least two items that keep this trans from being what it could/should be. Donjetman gave his testimony and @Geotrash replaced his with an upgraded one. Maybe he can expand...
