Hot 4wd selector knob revs jumping around

I just googled Tech 2 and shopped on Amazon. They offer all kinds of other scanners but no Tech 2 shows up. I did just get an email from Harbor Freight touting this: https://www.harborfreight.com/zr13-obd2-code-reader-with-abssrsfixassist-63806.html and wonder if this is decent. Probably early...

Hot 4wd selector knob revs jumping around

My 2009 Tahoe has been acting funny for a couple of weeks. It seems to be shifting and locking/uunlocking the torque converter. It feels like I'm hitting bumps in the road. A friend who builds automatic transmissions for race cars said similar things happened to his earlier generation Tahoe and...

    2017 Buffeting With Windows UP

I wonder if it's a problem with the body vents. Either they're not all operating or they're badly placed. Worth checking to see if taping them open cures it, taping them closed might do it, who knows.

Newbie looking at a 2009 LTZ and seeking advice

I'd jump on that if I hadn't bought my 2009 Tahoe LTZ with more miles, abused by kids and dogs and slob owners for more money. No history with mine.

Need a transmission - $3k budget - what would you do?

Does Performabuilt offer 6 speed trannys? Do they talk about upconverting to it? Pat in Tennessee

Need a transmission - $3k budget - what would you do?

I don't need it on my 2009. It came with the 6 speed. I don't really need paddle shifters. Pat in Tennessee

Need a transmission - $3k budget - what would you do?

What would it take to convert to a 6L80E trans in earlier vehicles? I really do love all the gear ratios in my 2009.

Need a transmission - $3k budget - what would you do?

I put a Performabuilt transmission in my old '96 Buick Roadmaster. Worked like a charm. I put it in with just over 100k on the clock and sold the car with just over 200k and a great driving transmission.

    2008 Suburban 5.3 to a 6.0 an easy swap?

It would seem to me if it's that problematic GM would be losing lots of money on the system. Bean counters would quash AFM quickly if it was costing them money. I realize the added fuel economy helps them meet CAFE standards and make some absurd vehicles that don't save fuel. Still, my truck is...

    2008 Suburban 5.3 to a 6.0 an easy swap?

Has GM dropped the AFM now? Is it really that problematic? My 5.3 has it and it's still running strong at 175k miles.

    Manual trans swap unpopular?

Not at all likely to happen but if I built a Suburban with a Duramax and 6 or 8 speed automatic my father in law would borrow it and never give it back. LOL!

Parking brake pedal goes to floor, no brake action

This broke a little while back. I crawled under the side and tugged on the cable and it moved down from the cab end a ways. I could see the clean part was well out of the cab but didn't want to create a dangling cable issue so I pushed it back up and ordered a front cable. Got the cable a...

    Reprogramming Trans on 09 w/5.3

I clearly need to do some research. I have no idea about torque management. I do notice that my Tahoe seems to really like the cooler weather and is doing better. That should buy me some time to raise some money for whatever I do. Pat in Tennessee

    Reprogramming Trans on 09 w/5.3

I remember the car I learned to drive in. My mom's 1967 Buick Electra 225 Sport Coupe. It was a coupe because it had two doors. Each door weighed about as much as a volkswagen. It had a Wildcat engine pumping out 360 hp. On a good day we could get 8 mpg. We used to drive from near DC down 95 and...

    Reprogramming Trans on 09 w/5.3

I'm thinking a) not going to be compatible with regular gas, and b) not gonna last long on my 175000 mile motor. Fun though for a couple of days I bet. :-D Pat in Tennessee
