How to fit a skar IX-8 sub factory box. Please make it sticky.

Because I practically sealed the sub to the box and eliminated nearly all rattle (little hum from the plastic it beats so good.

How to fit a skar IX-8 sub factory box. Please make it sticky.

Factory appearance the styrofoam and stuff is hidden if you didn’t know that this was a aftermarket larger sub you’d think this is factory.

How to fit a skar IX-8 sub factory box. Please make it sticky.

If you wanna run the plastic you need a spacer so you don’t block the sub from free excursion aka dead subs, bad bass. You also wanna delete this piece to reduce rattle besides plastic..

How to fit a skar IX-8 sub factory box. Please make it sticky.

All you need is a box cutter, sheet of styrofoam (I had a broken styrofoam cooler I used) 8? Self tapping screws between 1” and-2” an impact drill and a marker to mark the holes and preferably spray paint to cover styrofoam looks and possibly slightly poor cutting. In theory you could fit up to...

    AC compressor not coming on...

It depends on how much the AC got used and location also luck of the draw on compressors (primary failure point) my leak is most likely because I didn’t replace the lines when I did my ac because the aftermarket lines didn’t fit., my dads 97’ suburban with barn doors never had AC issues because...

    AC compressor not coming on...

Gauges are complicated i said the DIY kit because it’s only 1 number to play with, my lines are leaking so i don’t have AC rn :pain: now that these trucks are getting older they pretty much all have AC issues so we’re gonna see a influx of threads

    87 octane in a C5 Corvette? Seriously??

I basically said it wouldn’t make a difference on the dyno unless you tune for it

    Subwoofer riser

I might actually use styrofoam as a spacer apparently nobody makes a basically 8” -8.24” speaker riser if I just styrofoam I’ll have some sound deadening

    Subwoofer riser

I think I’m gonna exceed the optimal box volume but with properly powering this sub it’ll probably still Rock without echo that kills bass and reverb.

    Subwoofer riser

TLDR: $30 parts list drop in speaker risers/ pieces to screw it together everyone can carbon coby and have bigger, better subs in the factory box for cheap. Im more worried about the rattle and fixing every air gap so I don’t project and I get the full boom effect possible I found some “speaker...

    Subwoofer riser

If you do the spacer correctly you (could) run a 10” sub but you’ll run into Air volume problems with the factory box which shouldn’t be a issue with this skar 8” sub that’s currently underpowered I believe it’s rated at 350 watts but I only provide it (50?) watts I think with the factory amp...

    Subwoofer riser

So I have a skar ix8 I’ve been running with bushings as spacers because it’s too tall for the box , so what I’m gonna do is make a riser plate with Home Depot pieces and make a tutorial page for anyone who wants to use a taller 8” sub. which greatly expands our subwoofer options because we can...

    The difference $40 can make

Daytime pic , Ignore the stopleak it’s because I broke a radiator hose connection and I’m leaking coolant like a b. Edit: I can’t get the seat adjustment panel to go together right.

    The difference $40 can make

I’m gonna replace the top leather eventually and foam tray but 3 bolts, multiple screws , frustration and boom better sitting experience, the foam tray is messed up so it won’t clip properly still feels 10 million times better, I broke my lumbar adjustment during install :(.

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

It’s on the back burner because I need tie rods and other steering components but when I do I will do it’ll be pricey.

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

It was a bad fuel pump relay. it wasn’t holding the connection from the 86-87 terminals I believe and that’s why it’d run then quit. I don’t have fog lights until I find my spare relay but hey my truck brought me to and from work today. I also figured out the issue with getting 0 electricals at...

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

I FIGURED IT OUT! it was the fuel pump relay I broke out the stethoscope and it was clicking super weak I don’t have fog lights right now but Atleast my truck is running again until the relay blows again due to a worn fuel pump.

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

Because it’s pre 2003 it’s not electronic I believe if there’s anything small that can fix it in a hour I can do it before work and not limp it to work with high idle Yeah I’m hella lost after it did The Whole high idle thing it didn’t want to send voltage to even the dash. WTF CHEVY I can...

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

I shared it in another comment I thought. It’s a 2001 GMC Yukon XL 4wd SLT 5.3, if it helps there’s a mechanical cable on the throttle body cruise control moves the pedal any other information on the throttle body/gas pedal would wait until tomorrow .

The other weird thing is earlier it acted like it had no voltage I pasted a video on another comment but then it started after this thing is acting strange as hell

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

Last thing I didn’t list is a possible fuel pressure regulator issue causing the fuel to not be pressurized enough to idle without givin her a little beans for idlin

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

It wasnt a single problem besides low ambient temp starts before today and it was idling today just fine. I shut it down and now it only runs with the fast idle stick , no weird noises, no huge misfire, no CEL, I’m kinda lost if it isn’t fuel pump related considering the voltage is fine .

I can’t get a break. There goes my fuel pump at 165k

I don’t have the tool for it but the scan tool gave me a diagnostic fuel pressure reading I don’t remember the number but I remember it being low but not in the will not work pressure zone everything is checking out electrically. I can change the relay but besides that I have a good intake...
