Why GM decided to make the button hot all the time is a mystery. It’s as if the engineers never thought about security. I was worried about a thief getting access to my garage overnight, so I plug my garage door opener into a smart outlet that turns off overnight.
How did you actually program it to the Homelink? I have a remote for my front light, but not sure how to get the Homelink to learn it. The remote has separate on/off buttons.
Added a Black Friday light bar to the push bar. Also found a used Diablosport s1000 module for $50. I read that’s it’s basically a rebranded Range AFM. The module really woke up the Suburban and acceleration and ride feels much more responsive and smooth. I am noticing a decreased fuel economy...
Created a platform above the vault that’s level with the folded third row. I also added 2 hidden compartments towards the seats. When I find more free time, I need to add doors to cover the storage nooks, and cover the wood with contact paper or carpet.
For high gloss, try Superwrap spray vinyl. It’s sprays a really nice gloss out of the can. I used it for my wheels and my chrome trim.
Also, brake cleaner is important when painting your calipers. Paint doesn’t stick to greasy surfaces.
Put the awning back on. This time the bracket attached directly to the Escalade cross bars. Much lower profile than it would’ve been attached to the Suburban cross bars. Photo comparison from when it was mounted to the roof basket.
Finally received the new modules this week after almost 3 months. And they didn’t send the cases because they said they were for the old module and they’d give me a refund. I suppose the end user is supposed to figure out how to weatherproof the circuit board ourselves.
Dealers were only offering us $21k for our Suburban LTZ with 71k miles. I’ll probably have to do a private sale if I want to upgrade to a decent Escalade ESV Platinum.
