2010 PPV rear shock install fun

I'm not sure about that, but in all my years working on cars, have never heard of that.

    My urban child hauler/office

Hopefully, your bride is much better. Yeah, I experienced that, too. Got some sort of severe spasm in my neck. On minute, okay, the next minute a pain of 11 raidiating from my neck. Had to hold my head still, or it happened all the time. We ended up in a emergency clinic place, and I was...

2010 PPV rear shock install fun

While we were off over the holidays, we decided to do the rear shocks on the Tahoe. It now has ~130K miles on the clock, and when I had it in getting an alignment, the mechanic mentioned that the shocks were toast. I didn't think so, but since it was, at the time almost 10 years old, purchased...

    PPV Auction - No Keys?

No keys, and can’t touch the vehicle before buying?!? They are making it too hard on you to buy THEIR vehicle. Not worth the effort, IMHO. Walk away. Let them choke on the thing. There are better ones, and better deals out there.

Home Depot Racing Supply has been providing intake tubes for decades! ;)

    2014 SSV..Passenger rear door flooded

About once a quarter, or so, I run a Q-tip into those holes to keep them cleaned out. I also take a damp towel and run it down the lower door seals to keep them clean. It seems to help.

    2002 Tahoe..Well last week sucked

How about suggesting they create an avitar composed of an image of their SPID? :hahano:

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Wow. Looked up '2021 Tahoe PPV' to see if there was anything on one yet and came across this: https://chevrolet2020.com/2021-chevrolet-tahoe-ppv-interior-price-accessories/ Either I've had a stroke, or this article was written by some very bad online translator.

Asking again, since I didn't see a reply, or an end to the thread. Thanks.

2020 PPV Tahoe dash and display lights.

No telling where the OP is from, but in Texas, Constables usually run their own vehicle, so it may be his. That said, the upfitter add might be a better route. Otherwise, Chris White can be contacted here: http://www.whiteautoandmedia.com

    Turbo diesel for the Denali!

That's sad. GM has upped their game recently with the newer transmissions, but IMHO, they're still second to the Allison. I, too, would have preferred the Duramax/Allison duo like what's been serving us so well in our '02 GMC. Any idea who is making that sixer?

    2014 PPV..Suggestions Needed

Indeed. We put a LS1 in our Firebird and the first couple of events we went to, the car would warm up, then, while sitting at idle, would jump to 230-240. The first time it did it, I freaked and shut the engine off. Checked the radiator, which was full. Started the car, and it seemed okay...

    Annoying brake noises

When I first started using semi-metallic pads on our autocross cars, I'd take a hacksaw and cut a shallow slot radially through the middle of each pad. That significantly reduced the amount of squeal I got out of them. Newer pads are a different compound, and have not seen the need to do that...

2021 Tahoe & Suburban photos and specs

Man, I NEED one of those wheel nut wrenches!! Funny, in the video they show the truck being s-l-o-w-l-y driven off the line. I've been to that plant, and the drivers usually hop in and mat the throttle on the way off the line.

How many of you got a PPV/SSV because of the extra "cool factor"?

+1! Dependable, handles well, and does what we need it to do. And we don't have to worry about a butt warmer, or some other doodad failing and putting the entire truck into limp mode. It's my wife's DD. She's in the medical industry and is on call 50% of the time. She HAS to have...

    Spotlight upgrade...

The LEDs were stupid expensive when we got our PPV. I located a glass bulb so I promptly replaced the yellow, crazed bulb that was in the spotlight, and never looked back. A LED spot would be awesome, though.

    This weekends work...

I do not. I was focused on getting the thing installed. IIRC, I pulled the console apart to make it easier to move around while I checked for clearance while I cut plastic. It was a PITA, and I did it several years ago. Very happy it's done!

    Conquering the (NNBS) P0449 Code

That damn canister must have a timer on it so when it reaches about 90K miles on the truck, it switches into failure mode. Same thing happened on my wife's truck, and I followed pretty much the same process you did. No fix until that canister and harness.

2013 Tahoe with thumping sound in right front

I'd expect a bad motor mount to be more of an issue on the left side, but either can fail, and collapse so that you have metal bits hitting one another. I'd also have a look at the sway bar end links, and the frame mounts. If a bushing goes away, they'll rattle like crazy. If that's all...

What condition is the steering wheel? Is it available? Interested for our 2002 GMC. Thanks.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah, but try to replace a flasher unit on that NBS! The 'Engineer' that designed that needs his brains adjusted. :nutkick:

    This weekends work...

The rollover sensor is on the transmission hump, and does interfere with certain consoles. There's a reinforcement rib on the underside of the console that needs to be trimmed. Easy work with a sawsall or Dremel. The sucky part is pulling it and reinstalling it to get the job done.

    2010 PPV..Spot light

The handle comes off and the rod sticks into the hole and the handle bolts back on. A couple of screws mount the A-pillar mount to the A-pillar. Wire it up, Bob's your uncle!

    Rim question..2014 SSV

Are those black ones really aluminum? Man, that would remove a TON of unsprung weight from the wheel assembly over the factory wheels. The steelies are _heavy_. If aluminum, any idea what the 9596468 weight? Inquiring minds want to know.
