Got a call from the dealer and the rear pads have 2mm left and the fronts have 4mm left. He said the grooves on the rotor are due to the hard brake pads. 20k and the dang brakes are wore out on this car!!? And he says the pads are hard, but wouldn't a hard pad last longer? I know this is a...
This shouldn’t happen with the stock rotors and I feel GM should replace them, not me. I have a Jeep and I put the cheapest rotors I could find on it and it doesn’t do this.
I have 21k on the Denali and the pads are good. I've noticed lately that the rotors have excessive grooves in them. I mentioned this to the dealer and they claim it's from salty roads in the winter time and the materials they use for the rotor. I have a hard time believing this because none of...
The magna ride shocks were manufactured to last at least 100k, I worked with a lot of Engineers that manufactured those shocks at Delphi. Those are suppose to be the Cadillac of shocks, I am surprised they failed at 60k.
Mine has 19k on it and I was looking at the plug wires and they look like they would be a ***** to get off of the plug with the heat shield around them. Then when the vehicle gets some miles on it the boots will really stick to the plugs. I was thinking of pulilng them loose and putting some...
Do you have a number for the fix or anything that would help me? I called the dealer and they don't know what I'm talking about. I'm tired of mine coming loose...
Pull your shocks off one at a time and drive it to eliminate your squeak. It will bounce like hell at that wheel but it will keep your from spending money that don’t need to be spent.
I use to work with engineers in the Delphi plant that built GM shocks and they are built to last over 100k. They are pretty good quality shocks, I agree with the Bilstien statement also.
If that were me I would want it proven to me that the filter was the cause. I would want the filter to cut open and see if it has a blockage inside. Not that I don’t believe there is low standard filters out there (I only use Purolator filters on my cars because of this). I would just want to...
I have an engineer friend that works at a GM dash plant and he says it's not good for the plastic to put Armorall on it. Don't know if there is any truth to that, but I quit using it on my dash and just use soap and water now.
My train of thought, they SHOULD be equally reliable. Mine wasn’t and GM covered everything but once a month in the shop was too much, and the type of things that went bad was the type of things that has nothing to do with it being a hot rod and it was all stock. Other people have had no...
