Bought BBK headers...
There's plastic bb's stuck inside and outside of the tubes, welding spatter everywhere including on the mating surfaces. Thick welds inside the tubes, might as well be smaller diameter tubes.
The collectors are anything but a smooth high-flowing transition.
One collector...
....well, i got what I paid for i guess, the "quality" of the bbk shortys leaves a lot to be desired.
the welder was unskilled, or not paid enough, not allotted enough time to do a decent job...
also, theres no "ball" connector on the 3 bolt flange...its just flat... and has extra ports(with...
Normally when I order stuff from them it comes out of Vegas.
And this shipped ontrac... Haven't had great luck with them, they usually will say that they delivered something when they didn't, and then it magically shows up a day later so that the driver doesn't get penalized for not delivering...
Well I'll be darned, summit making stuff happen.
24 hours ago I paid for the headers... Free shipping
At 4:20 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the shipper received them in Reno Nevada.
9:40 a.m. today, out for delivery from Fontana.
Looks like I might just be hanging around in the AC today waiting...
Good to know, I don't like shiny parts though lol, but I like best bang for the buck performance...tough decision
EDIT: their website says out of stock temporarily, but summit racing says they have nine sets, and listed 50 bucks cheaper than BBK
EDIT:EDIT: the summit pro account knocks...
To my knowledge the ceramic coating on headers is for heat control.
I'm pretty sure the only difference between the two ceramic coatings is the look, so if you want shiny parts on your engine, get the polished one.
Curious to see what they email you back though.
If I didn't have to worry about smog I 100% would have long tubes on this thing years ago.
But these apparently are "carb legal"
Most of the carb legal headers I've found are all 1-5/8 primaries, these are supposed to be 1-3/4.

Looking at getting these so that I don't have to deal with stock manifolds breaking exhaust bolts ever again
I've had a couple browser tabs open with some from a shop, and now when I was actually looking to buy them, not only are they out of stock, but it doesn't even say that they will manufacture them anymore, and some of the other ones it says they're out of stock but you can still order them...
Didn't check with the AC on, but Park vs Drive didn't matter.
EDIT: AC on, 23%
Also found this little guy staring at me under the back seat this morning, looks like I need to clean under there.
I'm particularly fond of Permatex Copper Spray.
used it on 2 engines so far, no issues...exhaust and head gaskets.
As long as the old gasket looks good, go for it.
But new ones are cheap too...
There's actually and RPO code for the service vehicles that deactivates DRL's in the BCM.
Potentially a dealer could remove/alter that RPO to re-activate them.
I believe that the K2xx seats are hend in with a slot/hook on the front, and bolts on the rears.
GMT900's as far as I remember, are...
Isnt the oil and trans fluid like the spark plugs? Change them once every 100,000mi?
I really should just do 2500mi intervals(thats when im a quart low), but I still do 5,000 and add a quart at 2500.
Decided I'm going to run the BTR Torque cam... Mostly because it idles like stock.
And if I end up feeling spicy later and really want to rev the piss out of the engine, I can throw the trucknorris in there instead.
Need to gather more parts.
It was 90° for 5-6 hours straight yesterday... So I waited until it dropped down to about 87 at 6:30 p.m. before deciding to go out and do my 190,000 mi oil change.
Still need to rotate the tires, but not as much of a priority.
Yeah, you can see the little nipple forms during the molding process in the middle of it, and the remnants of the glue all the way around the border of the black area.
I think you can get replacements pretty cheap online
Or just go with a aftermarket one of your choice obviously.
