    What coolant should I use?

OK, I'll get it flushed. Does anyone know where the engine drain plugs are?

    What coolant should I use?

I was intending not to flush.

    What coolant should I use?

The manual says to use dexcool so that's what I got. However, when I drained my radiator, green coolant came out. I think maybe something universal was added by the last owner. I don't know if it's OK to refill with the dexcool at this point.

    Several ABS codes

When you first start the car up, there's nothing, but after a minute or two of driving, the abs light comes on. It also feels like something is dragging. My scantool pulled these codes: C0265 C0245 C0241 C0251 C0246 C0242 C0252 There's so many I don't know where to begin. I kind...

How do you replace the idler pulley?

It looks like it's not necessary to replace the push nut afterwards.

How do you replace the idler pulley?

I'm going to get a Gates belt kit and it includes an idler pulley. The existing pulley has his weird push nut on it that holds the pulley and bolt together. I can figure out how to get the nut off, but I need to know if I have to find a replacement for the push nut when I go to install the new...

Should water pump be replaced if gasket is leaking?

I thought the pump was leaking from the weep hole, but after closer inspection, there's coolant seeping out at the bottom where it mates to the engine. I don't know the history of this pump nor if it's OEM.

    Can't get fan clutch loose

Oh yea, totally. I don't really have one and going this route I can get all my money back with no fuss.

    Can't get fan clutch loose

OK, I've got it removed. It turns out clearance is too tight to comfortably attach a ratchet to the spanner wrench and use the 36mm wrench. I ended up having to go to O'Reilly and rent their serpentine belt tool kit (P/N 67061) since it's a slim profile. It was a little awkward but after a few...

    Can't get fan clutch loose

I found a tool to hold the pump pulley at the peg holes and it's a fan clutch spanner wrench. It's a Lisle 43580 and you use it with a 1/2" ratchet/breaker bar. I got it and then rented the 36mm wrench for the nut. We'll see how it goes.

    Can't get fan clutch loose

You've seen this tool? I got something from O'Reilly that holds the pulley, but it only works if there's bolt heads mounted to the top of it. Autozone has a similar tool with holes for the pegs that fit into the pulley, but there's no pegs included with it. I have no idea where you guys are...

    Can't get fan clutch loose

I'm using a 12" pipe wrench and smacking the end with a hammer in counter clockwise direction, but it's not coming loose. The problem seems to be that the serpentine belt keeps slipping on the pulley. So I guess the real question is how I can hold the pulley stationary while I knock the nut loose.

Help to ID possible leak areas

I see this at the rear of the car and it also looks like over time it's splashed a bunch of black stuff on the rear fuel tank shield. I also see this near the front and it looks like it's been leaking too. I see writing on this long shaft and it looks like it's something a junkyard would...

2001 Yukon Fuel Filter Install Issues

OK, I got it. Scottyboy was right. I ended up completely removing the filter mount, then I fed the smaller non flared side of the filter into it a little. After that, I unclipped the fuel lines on both sides of the filter and then screwed the side on that's closer to the fuel pump. I then took...

2001 Yukon Fuel Filter Install Issues

So close to the end of this job. More setbacks, more fun. I've fought with the 33481 Wix filter for over an hour and I can't seem to get it aligned right for install. I pulled the old one out again and set them close for comparison and it SEEMS like the new one is fatter and longer than the...

2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 Fuel Pump

Would you be able to say where you got the part numbers? I can't seem to find anything under them Edit: You should enter your VIN to do the search to be sure, but it looks like the front is 15205636 and the rear is 15205631...

By the way, is it normal for a installed lock ring to sit up higher on a new gasket?

Fuel tank lock ring install issues

OK, it's on! I decided to just save my breath and buy the OEM tool for the install. It's a kent-moore J-44402. The 4 tangs on the part (4th not visible in pic) fit nicely into the 4 square slots on the lock ring. Totally worth it as it made a job that was giving me headaches into a simple 30...

Hahaha, I've been reading these posts asking myself when we switched from #1 to #2

Fuel tank lock ring install issues

I'm using everything new. Messed with it a hour more and just got sick of it. I ordered one of those lock ring tools, so we'll see how that goes.

Fuel tank lock ring install issues

01' Yukon and I don't have flex fuel. I bought a acdelco TR14 lock ring for the pump I got and for some reason I can't get it to seat right. I'm trying to put it on with the inner lip facing upward.

Do I have to change out fuel pump connector with new one?

I don't get what the major difference is between this new connector and the old one. All I really see is the old one has a BLK/WHT wire and the new one has an ORN/BLK wire. Just trying to see if it's worth slicing into the harness for this.
