Evidently the chip shortage isn't getting better. Been waiting for the Cadillac CT5 2022 production to begin and it keeps getting set further back. They have been shut down most of the summer and currently October will be the start.
The new CT5-V Blackwing will be about the price of a...
I don't understand why a lot of us are trying to see the rosy side of this when we should be highly critical of a company pumping out an unreliable product. If you're a GM sales associate raise your hand otherwise smarten up.
"The aforementioned valve lifter problem affects 2019-and-later...
Yet they aren't changing lifters on the opposite bank imagine driving that engine for 50,000 miles wondering when the other lifter will drop. Won't those affected vehicles have lower value?
An assumption based on empirical evidence, the evidence provided by posters that are having problems. That assumption will be proven right or wrong in a few months. The problem appeared with the introduction of DFM in 2019 which doesn't support a bad batch of whatever component one wishes to...
I would posit that the programming isn't out of time but the execution of that programming isn't within spec when they fail. The complexity of the design demands exact execution amid a myriad of variables such as oil and gas quality, operating temperature, individual engine component...
You could be right but... if not for the long list of owners who've had problems he would have been booed out of the stadium.
Time will tell if the problem has been fixed. I'm betting not and if not GM will be flooding forums with alternate theories.
My 2012 failed for the first time this year but I forgave my Hoe and told her she was entitled after nine years of faithful service, I did ask her not to make it a habit. Not sure I could trade her in on something I couldn't trust as much. We is like peas and carrots.
Well it's sad how these complainers expect their new trucks to be problem free and flock to the internet to complain. To top it off they expect GM to take care of them with a tow and a loaner after multiple engine failures. Whiners...
"i want to hear your opinions on the tahoe. i did check the production date and it's late june 2021. checked the VIN and there are zero recalls. i have heard and been educated on the whole lifter issue, but apparently i am in the clear due to the production date."
Oy
What makes you think they've fixed the lifter problem. Some have stated it is a bad batch but that's BS the lifter problem started with the DFM introduced in 2019. If you're not looking for validation do some research.
I'm a big believer in 'when the universe speaks people should listen' and when I've ignored cues and warnings in the past I've come to regret it. But if you're looking for justification to purchase a shiny new toy you'll find it regardless of the what is posted. I don't say this lightly, I've...
GM is leaving buyers hanging on this one. They are stuck with a bad design and possibly going under and their only consolation is that the competition is in the same boat. Buyer beware.
They won't go far enough unless it is a solid display filling the whole area where the gauge cluster is now. Then they would have to get rid of that awful silver fakey chrome trim on the steering wheel, center stack and anywhere else they've plastered it. It looks cheap and dates to the 70's is...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, my ol' solid running 2012 is looking better and better with the current offerings and the market. At these prices I can afford to rebuild her several times over and have a better vehicle than anything government mandated rolling off the assembly line today.
