    You're 100% right solder/heat shrink is the only / best way to go. I seriously considered doing it for this project but it was getting dark , I wanted to finish to see what they looked like lit up at dark, ha. My plans and execution of such get in the way sometimes. Kinda like reading...

    No wonder your dad didn't want to get in the water after that experience. WOW. My dad called the Escort carriers 'jeeps' as well, I never ask him why. He is 95 now and dementia is got him pretty bad. He still can tell great stories.

    Back in the day, there were several Auto Parts stores in town that had ramps that you could put your car/truck up on and they had steam pressure you could use to get the grease off the underside, i guess too much of a insurance risk now, ha
