Well, I tried my best to be patient and salvage these plug wires but they refused. After I broke the second one there was no sense in saving them. Besides, new set was already in the mail.
Got the old manifolds off, only to find out that 3 of the bolts were already missing their heads and two...
I honestly think my problem was that the truck is just a little high and when you stand next to it and look at this panel, you have to kind of get up on your toes to see this fuse because of the plastic lip of the box. I think I just missed it.
Okay, so I checked all the grounding straps I could find. Double checked a few other things and grabbed a pile of fuses from a Tahoe at the salvage yard so I'd have a stock of replacements for emergencies.
I had gone through all the fuses when this first happened so I knew I was missing some...
No luck at the salvage yard. I'll check those fuses you mentioned @Fless .
Ordered a Fuel Pressure Regulator. It is on the rail, so it'll be a quick swap and likely needs to be replaced even if it isn't the problem.
Past that, I can try another BCM, but I'll likely just drop it off at the shop...
I could be wrong, but I'm leaning toward BCM.
I removed the battery yesterday to recharge it, so that box is checked.
Wireless remotes, auto headlights and VATS all require BCM. None of mine work now.
I tried the security relearn procedure, but security light stays on alternating back and...
Things I noticed today while poking around.
0 psi on fuel gauge. Turn key to on position, get 50-52psi for 2 seconds then drops immediately to 0psi. Truck tries to start for 1/2 second turnover then dies (just enough spark, fuel and air to fire some cylinders). Fuel pressure stays up at 50psi...
I can't remember the brand but I think it was a Delphi also that I bought at auto zone like 5 years ago. It had a lifetime warranty, so when I was doing some troubleshooting recently and it was in question, I just swapped it out under warranty.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I question the pump as the culprit. It primes when the key is in the on position to a solid 50psi. Truck starts, then dies and pressure drops to zero. Makes me think that something isn't telling the pump to turn back on. Could be that I have to let go of...
Any recommendations on a pump only?
My assembly probably has less than 5k miles on it. Don't really need to replace the whole thing.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: correction... My pump and assembly was replaced during recent troubleshooting also. So the whole thing has less than 2k miles on it.
Didnt realize it mattered when it came to the pump, so I apologize. It's a VIN Z flex fuel.
I replaced the pump a few years ago and the fuel filter just a couple thousand miles or less ago when troubleshooting another problem. I'll swap the regulator just because I haven't done it yet, if it has...
I'll try to attach a video, but basically it turns over and then immediately dies. I put a gauge on the fuel rail and read zero pressure until you turn the key, then it goes to 50psi and then when it dies, it immediately drops back down to zero.
I thought I had just ran out of gas, but I put...
I'm looking to replace my muffler when I do some up coming motor work. The motor work will be cam upgrade and tune stuff, nothing crazy, but I want to do the exhaust prior to the tune.
Not looking to change the whole system out, just doing headers and replacing muffler. I'm looking at the Borla...
I ordered them on Amazon. Most of the bulbs are 12v, so you'll want to find 12v LEDs to replace the 12v bulbs. You can be specific to 3mm or 5mm , but in most cases it doesn't matter, I used 3mm for all of them. The problem you'll find is when you run into a bulb that is actually an led. Those...
I don't think I've ever used anything to remove solder except copper braid. That's just how I was trained.
Did you have any polarity issues with the LEDs on the CC board? Just wondering if I need to test before I solder.
I didn't know there was anything else required since all it does is feed back a status. Mine is an 02 though so there are definitely some difference, but I just swapped em.
Always good to have a buddy to help though. Good luck, and let us know how the test drive goes.
I did some easy stuff today, it was too hot in Texas today to do exhaust work, so install the cheap CAI I got off Amazon. It's actually a decent tube and filter For the price. Probably just upgrade the filter later.
Then i brought the cluster in to install blue LED's and replaced the taillight's...
If you have the extra room and extra $$, you may also consider something like these....

This is what was recommended to me for my 02. CAI, exhaust, LS6 cam and a tune.

I have 4hi and 4low. Is that 2 speed? Is that 2 different actual gears?
Sorry, but I'm completely ignorant to the way the 4x4 system works. This is my first 4 wheel drive. I grew up under the hoods of old sports cars mostly.
Careful when you say ANY muffler shop, lol
There's some in my woods I wouldn't trust to put a clamp on.
I do agree though, that could be a break in a connecting point on the shield, but I ain't no expert and that's just a sound file on the internet, so....
Not sure if anyone has asked this yet, but I want to replace the factory sticker that was on my driver's door. I think I hit it with a pressure washer. Also thinking about replacing that door.
Lots of specific info on there, so I'd assume it would have to come from GM. Does anyone know if this...
