    Shocks

    I had Bilstein 5100's on my 2500HD as well. They were great for the first year, when they were new. After 12 months though, I noticed the ride quality diminished noticeably. I see here the Bilsteins are highly regarded, but I'm looking for another option besides that shock. Thank you.

    How many miles are on yours thus far? Do you have low range 4wd/awd? If there is no low range, that is reason enough that I'd want to convert, but also the mileage improvement not being in awd all the time is a better choice for me. Thanks.

    Yeah, I'm sure they're great, but for my amount of driving, I'd prefer to have the selectable 4wd so that 99% of my miles are in 2wd. Thank you.

    Sounds like the same round of B.S. problems a family member of mine went thru with their first year model '07. They chose to dump it and now they're in another first year model, '15. I don't know if they're having a load of problems with the '15.....other than the broken A/C repeated times...

    I'm at a crossroads with my 04 Tahoe Z71 that will very soon roll over 300k miles on original engine and drivetrain, including trans. I'm looking at replacing the 5.3 with a 6.0, going thru the trans, replacing the front susp and steering to tighten everything up, new shocks, and tracking down...

    6.0 vs. 5.3 conversion questions

    One plus I thought of for using the 243/799 instead of having the cut 317's is the more the stock 6.0 head is cut, you could run into an issue with intake manifold fitment, as the heads become shorter, the distance between heads will grow larger.

    Are the Arnott's the replacement for the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon with the air ride shocks? The Z71 Tahoe does not have air ride shocks. I did a little searching and saw a lot having to do with air shocks.

    Had another idea since I am looking at sourcing the basis of my 6.0 build from a local pick your part. Would it behoove me to get the Denali or Escalade factory computer to swap into my Tahoe, which that could then preclude me from needing to get my stock 5.3 Tahoe computer tuned?
