    03 Tahoe first mod

I’m running 275/60/18 and same, has the 31-inch diameter to keep the Speedometer accurate. I don’t know that I’ll ever upgrade to Dubs, but it’s good to know.

    Need LED Turning SIGNAL HELP???

Simple universal solution to resolve all LED flasher (and brake light/cruise-control) problems. Step 1- Remove LED and install incandescent. That is it. Seriously, I don’t understand the resistor workaround. It converts electrical energy into thermal energy, i.e. Heat. You end up with same...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I thought long and hard about that cubby but ended up installing that same amp under the cup holder because was concerned about heat buildup. Are you going to install some type of louvre vent to get some air on there? Since the cooling fan is on the bottom you might want to ride it up just a...

New '23 LS bare bones&and some questions

Nice rig. Great outcome for a lemon-problem. Lemonade, right? Is there a workaround for the idle-stop? Best feature in DW’s Acura MDX is a push-button override.

    Tahoe saved our lives

Glad everybody is OK. Fortunately you have the wisdom to see this for what it is: a life-changing event of good fortune. But we make our own luck, right? You made this good outcome by raising kids smart enough to all be buckled in; and selecting one of the safest autos on the road, with modern...

Have any of you done the high-beam all headlights on mod? 4hi/6hi/8hi

Ive also heard this works. Take the black ground wire from your low beam bulbs to ground (on the frame) is what I believe works for 4-Hi. Not 6-Hi, not fog lights. Seems like this must bypass a relay that opens the low beam circuit when high beams are on. Would be great to let us all know how...

    2001 Tahoe AC issue

I replaced the failed AC Clutch Cycle Switch on my 2001 at 155K miles in 2016. I also replaced the Accumulator, Orifice Tube, and new Freon charge at same time. I really should have replaced the Compressor - it failed a few years later. So maybe look at the AC Clutch Cycle Switch? It was only a...

    Mechanic in DC/MD/VA area

Old thread, I know. Bump. Years ago in 2010, I used Auto Solutions in Leesburg, VA for work on my 2001 GMC Yukon and found him to be honest, fair and proficient. My wife knew his wife; good people. True story - We were fixing up my truck to trade in on a 2010 Acura. He did a lot of the 100K...

Attorneys Saying my 2023 Tahoe LT is a lemon and they ill represent me and get $100K over what I paid

“We will make GM buy your used car that is running fine for $100K over what you paid for it.” And “Hello kind sir, of the goodness of your heart and wisdom. I am of the disfortunate nation of Farawayistan where my integrity persevering nephew has just has contacted 4,765,291 dollars $...

I Need An Education On Window Tint

Hypothetically speaking … if you roll down your windows, turn the interior lights on and put your hands up on top of the steering wheel the officer is not going to say a word about your tint. He might want to chat w you about 86 in a 75 but out here in Arizona it’s pretty hard to get a speeding...

Your opinions on this deal? Extended bumper-to-bumper warranty

That’s a fair deal, but I would ask for 7/100 since you already have 7 years. 6 means you are leaving with a new truck and a 6 year warranty versus a new truck and 7 years. (Don’t mention the refund you will be keeping though). It’s as good as fair can be. When wife’s Acura RDX was sidelined...

Need some GOOD Led headlight bulbs

It’s been out for a year. Fairly common issue, but that’s a tough environment for any electronic component. It’s my next project. Remove the upper dash cap to access the sensor. Remove and replace. Might repaint the Pewter dash cap while I’m at it, but my dash is in good shape so the upside from...

    2000-2006 exterior LED bulbs

LED tail light aka stop light will disable your cruise control. I have a thread up on this. Any flashing bulb will also do wacky stuff if you switch to LED, hyperflash. I use basic incandescent for everything except hi and lo bean headlight, reverse backup light, and center high stop light.

Need some GOOD Led headlight bulbs

I have these in my 2001 GMT800 Yukon. Had a problem w one bulb, sent a pic and they sent me a new full set. That was 6 months ago. Working perfectly now ever since. And come to think of it, since my ambient light sensor is failed, they are always on even in the Arizona summer heat. Huge upgrade...

    Monthly payments

My recommendation is bring a spreadsheet like this with you, two columns bid and offer. I don’t have any problem with dealer asking for local market mark-up’s above MSRP but I sure think they should be transparent about them.

    Monthly payments

Sure you can. We did it on an Acura SUV for my wife earlier this year. Taxes including local, dealer fees, title, tag, destination, trash markups, added accessories (trailer hitch and ATF cooler, mats, etc) and everything. I think we probably missed the final number by less than $10, but it was...

    WWYD

I have a 2001 w 170K. Here’s my recommendation - you have to change all the fluids (sounds like you have) plus make sure you have good brakes. And it’s cheap insurance to have relatively new battery, less than 36 months. After this, tires are a big purchase; $600-$1200 but it you need them you...

Range of cost for rear main seal job at a shop?

I don’t really know what a torque converter is except I gather it’s the twisting energy transfer between the engine and the transmission. And the main seal must be the seal between the Engine and the torque converter? Or is the torque converter a sub-assembly inside the transmission and the main...

Can I see photos of your truck with aftermarket tail lamps

I replaced my 22 year old OG OEM light fixture on the right with this fresh Dorman aftermarket light fixture installed on the left. Really pops in my SUV, stepping out.
