Well I guess I’m wrong then...
Just curious what harness is everyone using? On my 2013 I went with the iDatalink Maestro GM5+ Harness, it retained everything, including onstar(not that I care about or ever use onstar) but iDatalink did not offer a separate harness just for onstar or one that...
Without it you will lose your factory warning chimes, turn signal chimes, Rear Parking Assist chime, steering wheel controls, and Onstar, if you can live without all of the above then you are good to go
My 2011 Silverado was an LT2 with the L9H 6.2 and it did not include Instant MPG in the DIC, only AVG MPG, my 2013 Avalanche is an LS and came with the LMG 5.3 and it does have Instant and AVG MPG in the DIC, so I don’t think it’s tied to the L9H, my guess would be it’s in the 2012+ Cluster
Realistically I think it could be accomplished for about a 1/4 of that give or take a couple grand (assuming you could do most of the labor yourself) and depending on whether you go with a 4l80e or an Allison trans...
L59 is just a flex fuel 5.3 (bigger injectors and stainless fuel rails).
Like you mentioned above one of the biggest downsides of the 8.1 is it doesn’t have very much aftermarket support. It shares more in common with the older big block engines than it does with the Gen 3 LS engines. You...

I haven’t had any experience with wrapping headers, it may help, I wouldn’t think it would make a big difference though, I do know it helps a lot with controlling under hood temperature...make sure whatever exhaust wrap you go with doesn’t absorb moisture
Mike, I appreciate it man. Honestly I really didn't have a good reason to get the kooks headers other than I just wanted to try them out. Both companies make top notch products and I never experienced a problem with either set of headers. Both had excellent fit, finish, and welds. I would...
Minor update....so considered selling the truck to get a newer Silverado for a while but in the end I decided against it.
Just gonna keep it and drive it as is. I was gonna go put a blower on it but have since decided I miss rowing gears and I would rather get a weekend project instead of...
Well if that’s the case then your particular engine was not one of the early builds and does not have the AFM components...that being said the oil pressure relief valve is only required for AFM so you should delete it, although this may not fix your problem since it should never activate without...
