Hey!
Before I owned this Rig a previous owner added some Led lights around it.
As a result it has had no reverse lights.
I found a strip of lights online and added them. The set has a red strip that I wired into the brake and also indicator.
A buddy has had my front air dam for a couple of months since a 4x4 trip that I broke and cracked it.He does a bit of plastic welding and offered to fix it for me. Just finished giving it a sand and threw some paint at it.Is a quick dry paint so will let be for a while and then I'll get it back...
And check her out!! Just picked her up from the tyre shop. What a change! Both in look and drive. Is 5"s lower now but kinda looks the same with the lower profile tyre. Loving it!!!
Just picked her up from the tyre shop!
New 265 x 70 x 16.
That is another drop of 2" from the
285 x 75 x 16 that I was previously running. Feels way smoother!!! :favorites37:
Yes I thought you may have with a couple of posts I saw.
Luck has a part to play in the housing market between these 2 countries!
You'd be happy to be back then.
Florida?
We are all good! Summer, work is busy and have lots of road trips all over our South island selling our salami at Summer...
Hi
How are ya? :)
Saw them here back in the day too.
Started listening to inxs around 84-85 with the 1st album The Swing' Loved them!!
Yes a pretty easy guy to talk to,humble
He had taken the GMC grill off and put the chev on because he loves the
Bow Tie
Someone had also done the whole...
Here we are. Just pulled her out of the cave.
Bit of a rake but okay for now as is empty of petrol and no load in the rear.
Keep in mind I am going to refit stock body mounts as currently on 2" lift and am going to drop 2" by changing from 285 x 75 x 16 to 265 x 70 x 16 tyre. After that I will...
Saw this tidy 84 Suburban
Had a chat to the owner pictured.
Nice guy.
Purchased it in the U.S and drove a few states
Loved it so much it came home with him.
You know,I had the very same thought in mind!
It will get used again when I rebush the front end.
Cant believe how easy it was to change those keys out!
Lol 1st check and I had it wound down 4"s!!
2 on the key and 2 on adjustment.
She was rubbing in the front badly!
Pretty happy at the moment...
Now we are talking!!Yeah bio!!
Excited! Will level up the front and measure the drop. I have another 1" of rear drop I can grab out of the shackles so after a wee trot around the block I might just grab that!!
Wheel alignment on Wednesday with luck to set the camber back up.

Hey!!!
Okay so the key unloader has arrived 15 days earlier than expected!
Woohoo! Stoked I did the rear drop on the weekend!just going to jack her up and get this job going :boxing:
So I'm not going to lie and say' Gee that was easy!! :D
That was a Bee Arch!!!!!
Lying there trying to hold a spanner in place between the frame and tank with a torch in my mouth while ratcheting the nut in place.
My respect and pity to any other dummies brave enough to want a lower ride...
Bolts in. A brake line rolls past a bolt(bottom right). Was a mission to get the washer at the end of the bolt so to allow it past the line.
Would hate to have crushed that!!will slip the nuts on and pull them through properly before I add washers and loctite.
Here I am with what I thought I should do. I have dropped the straps completely and supported the tank.Managed to move and angle the tank to allow me to thread the bolts through and I will loctite the nuts to them.
Lol I drove it to almost empty.
The tank strap bolts slackened off easy.
Feeling...
Just looking at the New McGaughy's hangers. Man they are a lot stronger than the stock hangers!!
Guess that is because of the inversion of placement creating more stress!
Cleaned upAnd painted! Have used a kill rust satin enamel. And of course while enjoying Guy time working on the rig I am also helping the wife with some artwork she wants to finish and attach to the front of the house. ;)
Okay so I've decided while I'm waiting on the unloading tool for the keys I would start the install on the hangers So far so good! Have chopped both old hangers off. Going to buzz the surface rust off and paint the area affected.
While the paint dries I'm going to loosen the petrol tank straps...
So is it an easy change out? I mean just swap the wheel out and the electricals. Or is it a complete column change out?
Would be good to have the mpg's in reach
I am just having a look at these leaf spring hangers that I purchased along with the keys. And while I was lying under here yesterday I was contemplating the change out of them.On the drivers side here I am thinking I need to run her low on gas and undo the tank straps while supporting the weight...
Yes I would have thought I could at least rent 1 here. I think if I had booked it in somewhere to get them fitted they would have the tools.
Thanks for your thoughts on the bushes. I will take that knowledge on board and use when I do the replacement.
