Yeah it’s slowly but surely coming together, I think most people here have seen even if it takes a year or two I eventually get it done. I should rename my build Patience.
Looks good, like you said adding the grille and filling that shadow in the middle will really bring it together .
Make me want to do it and try your angle bar idea.
HD Hoods in the garage waiting on paint...
Plan is to go with the 1.5bl. Once I have that I’ll get the authentic HD grille, HD bumper cap, and Z71 valance. Then put everything on and send it to the body shop to get a full repaint/paint match/fitment. I want the whole truck repainted the factory...
Got an alignment from a really legit shop, first people to actually get it aligned properly. Let’s see how long it holds hahaha
Bow tie came in the mail, it doesn’t fit down in the grille like I imagine it’s suppose to haha but oh well. I plan on ordering the authentic GM grille that...
No problem bud glad to help, but I don’t know anyone to get a kit from or who would be best for that year. It’s definitly harder with the older trucks.
We just binge watched all 10 Star Wars movies this weekend, I’m starting to think she picked up some Jedi tricks hahahaha
And she was but then she got hit by a drunk driver a couple months back so we had to get her a new car and we all know insurance never pays out enough, we might get a...
Yeah it’s pretty easy with it up that high I only have to use my jacks if what I’m doing requires a wheel to be taken off.
There’s a nice white 04 suburban for sale around the corner from me and every time we go by it my wife looks at me and says NO hahahaha
Looking sharp! And what is it with that one spot on the passenger rear frame where the paint chipped off? Mine does it in the same spot every time...I have a feeling that’s like the spot water and sand and rocks bounce off the most
A lot of post on other forums say you can do it on 9” of lift with that body because of the bigger square wheel wells but most report trim plastic. I would go with a 10” kit. You’ll clear 37s nicely no trimming. And then be able to fit 40s later with a small body lift or some minor trimming. I’m...
Basic Chevy lift rules to clear tire sizes without cutting and retaining as much turning radius as possible:
7-9” for 35s
10-12” for 37s
12-14” for 40s
Range and results depend on the look you want and how much you want to cut and how wide you are going on wheels and tires. Example: 35x15.50...
Thank you big time for tagging him :elephant:
No need to dig bud, what you posted is perfect. And I’d lean towards it being oem, the part number system is a pretty close match to what’s on my 1500 oem bow tie and grille. Only difference is the mention of the GMT group number.
Thanks bud, I don’t think it’s OEM. Ordered it on amazon back in 2015. Here’s a link for anyone interested.

A few changes, guy I was selling some subwoofers to hit a deer so I also sold him my grille and headlights cause it was quick and easy. My other 1500 grille is primer right now and I’m working on getting a couple quarts of my paint so I can do a bunch of painting once weather is better. Also...
Once the weather clears and the holiday passes I’ll be taking the front apart for some color changes and updates. New headlights, grille, fog lights, and need to decide what I’m going to PM.
I am putting my Crossfire XS-8X up for sale. Asking $1700 firm, prefer local pick up, willing to ship at buyers expense. I will triple box it with packaging between boxes and foam around the end plates.
Ran it in a competition vehicle for one season. It’s like new, in the box, with bass knob...
