What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced the blown out original sub with a Planet Audio one. Finally hear some bass in the back. Time up replace the crackling front speaker. Lastly did an oil change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Your towing pictures

I don't have the luxury of a large driveway, and don't want to park the trailer on the grass. :banghead: One day when I actually make decent money, I'm going to build a detached garage with a carport for trailer parking.

I've been thinking about getting a car trailer so I don't need Uhaul anymore, but I don't know where to store it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    GMT 800 Towing Package?

Ah, I get how the cooler works with the thermostat bypass. Neat idea. I've seen Dodge use that on some of their trucks; definitely a hit or a miss depending on the climate the owner is in. I'd have some faith that Tru Cool made a failsafe so that when it sticks, it sticks fully open.

    GMT 800 Towing Package?

Where are the cold weather bypass tubes? All I see is a basic stacked plate cooler. Top and bottom plates look normal. Marketing at its finest...

    Black license plate screws

If you gotta ask that, then you know they are going to ward off any plate thieves. :Big Laugh: Check your screwdriver bit sets, you should have the proper one. Otherwise, gotta buy a new set.

    Black license plate screws

What about these security torx? I picked black oxide, but some zinc finish ones are also finished black. Looks like 1/4" x 3/4" is a common size that will work https://www.mcmaster.com/#security-screws/=18rb8md

    GMT 800 Towing Package?

I just pulled this 150 miles today with my Tahoe. I estimate ~5100lbs and ~600lb tongue weight on the stock factory cooler, 3.73 gears and class 3 hitch. I struggled on one hill trying to keep 45 mph (dropped it down to 2nd) but otherwise kept it in tow/haul and 3rd. Transmission temps never...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Mine's been super reliable! I just needed a way to get both my E36 and Tahoe from my parents house. Had to rent a trailer in this case, but I want to get my own so I can start trailering to the track now.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The main reason I bought the Tahoe was to tow the BMW. Got 12.5 mpg doing 65 mph and handled 150 miles with ease. A 6.0 would have been nice on some hills but this will do fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone try an Aero Turbo muffler ?

I use one on my BMW. I like the way it sounds (with another Jones muffler) and it hasn't rusted after 2 years. Not a direct comparison, but it is a quality muffler

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The 4L60E takes 5 quarts if dropping the pan. I'm sure many service manuals state it, I used ALLDATA for my reference. Usually cork or paper gaskets are a one-time use. They compress a certain amount when torqued so they seal properly. If you've tightened, loosened, tightened and tightened...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yea I made a mess when I did mine too. No way to do it clean unless you had one of those large transmission drain pans. I didn't touch my old filter seal either; my new filter popped in place and was snug so I didn't see the point. If you don't want to get a $10 HF 1/4" drive torque wrench, do...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Didn't even bother with it. Just loosened all the bolts but the 4 corners. Then loosened the front two and let it drip until it was manageable. I guess I could have used my large breaker bar, but I figured the way I did it would be stress free too.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So over the past two days, I gave the Tahoe the "new" car maintenance it deserved: - Trans fluid + filter - Rear brake pads + 1 seized caliper - Front and rear differential fluid - Spark plugs - Greased all Zerk fittings - Toyed around with the dimmer switch, gauge cluster and rear window...

    Ppv tahoe parts

Yea, the cores are usually a mix of aluminum/copper/brass. That's why they're brazed together. I was referring to the aluminum endtank ones. They usually don't come very well built, with the wrong transmission fittings, wrong endtank dimensions, and poor performing oil/trans coolers.

    Ppv tahoe parts

They all mount up the same. Two bushings on the bottom and then the two bolts up top onto the front support. Yes, there are a lot of different PN's available. I found over 10, but when you overlay them, they all have the same footprint and mounting positions. Be careful of the aluminum ones, as...

    Ppv tahoe parts

Spectra CU2370 should be a direct fit onto your vehicle. It has all the accessories (oil cooler + trans cooler, fittings, TB coolant caps, etc) needed and is the wider 34" core. Like Tony said, all GMT800's and 900's use a very similar radiator, and the CU2370 is made to fit all of them.

    New '00 tow rig

Yea, my picture is kinda small but I have a 2000 NBS Tahoe. Not a 2000 OBS Tahoe. I don't like the way Chevy does the 1/2 model years, makes figuring out first model year part numbers difficult, since I'm in the industry. Not sure if I learned more about these vehicles from work or from my...

New AC Delco Dexron VI Synthetic ATF???

Dex 6 is Dex 6... you can't put that rating on there if the fluid doesn't meet it. You're fine in any Dex 6 fluid, including "cheap" Walmart stuff. I'm planning to do the Walmart Supertech soon

    New '00 tow rig

Yup, I have a 5.3 in this one. Gas mileage has been ~16 mpg with a mix of city/hwy. Roads I drive on have a speed limit of 40-55, but with tons of traffic. Not bad, but I hope it gets better once I do plugs and all the fluids.

    New '00 tow rig

And a pic of my BMW for attention: Yes, 4x4. It seems to have most options clicked, but it doesn't have any Bose system or sunroof. Not sure if they were offered in 2000 anyway. It has power everything and OnStar, which I was surprised about. I am worried about the 4L60. Really wanted an...

    New '00 tow rig

Hi all, here's my new-to-me '00 Tahoe LT. Picked it up for $1700 with 180k. How'd I do with the price? Bought it to tow my BMW E36 around and haul other stuff around. Came with 3.73's, G80 locker and the stock trans cooler. Just doing all the fluids and trying to keep this a reliable daily tow rig.
