    Remote Start Troubleshooting

2013 Tahoe LT. The tech2 will let you know why the remote start won’t work. Mine was stolen so I don’t have the path to verify if it will also trigger the remote start and diagnose it. Ensure all the DTC are cleared or the R/S won’t work.

    Vehicle purchase help (Tahoe/Suburban)

Later model ‘11 Burb with less milage over an earlier ‘09 Tahoe with more milage? I’d do the Burb just for the better ride and additional crumple zone in the rear. Unfortunately the 4 speed of the wrecked 08 is not doable in 6 speed of the 09 & 11. Whoever built the 4 speed may want it back or...

Can I switch the 2nd row seats around?

Oh no. Don’t put kids on roof. If you ever do pull the bench out it’s easiest to pull it out the back with the 3rd row removed.

    07 XL Denali

My 08 Denali had an amazing ride for sporting 20” rims. The service contract paid full retail for new GM rear air struts and compressor at a Caddy dealership $1200 later. No lifetime parts warranty back then. RockAuto now has the same factory parts for 1/2 price w/ lifetime guarantee as well as...

Can I switch the 2nd row seats around?

Nope, that’d be too easy. You can yank the 3rd row seats out though. You do have the option of buying and bolting in 2nd row captains chairs from another Tahoe, Yuke, Esky or Burb as well as leaving one of them uninstalled.

Two Tahoe Options - Advice Needed

09 with the 6 speed all day. The fact that the 07 had its AFM removed 100k ago and still running strong is testament to doing the same to the 09 in time. The 07 is essentially an 01-06 trans in an 07-14 truck. They’re stout as you’re aware, coming from an 07 yourself. Drive both and see...

Can I switch the 2nd row seats around?

It’s a No go for changing the 60/40 seat from left to right sides. The mounts in the floor are specific and the seat tilt / fold levers would face each other keeping them from locating correctly.

    07 XL Denali

I’m pushing 180k+ on the original suspension in my 09 Esky. Here’s a list of parts you need to rebuild the z55 front struts w/ OEM, guaranteed for life GM struts and the ancillaries. It’s $1.2k. If you want want to replace all the bushings and control arms with steel or aluminum, it’s another...

Service Stabilitrack + Service brakes soon What could be the issue?

Check your front wheel bearings while front wheel(s) off ground. Check for play. Remove tire, spin disc for “the grind” sound. Verify ABS sensor harnesses while in there. It’s a shady mechanic’s trick to loosen the ABS or o2 harness connectors so they come undone after a few bumps.

    AFM delete on Chevy Suburban

Welcome from SoCal. Here’s an example on one way to delete the AFM. A suggestion would be to go with an upgraded cam, ARP exhaust mani bolts & hi vol oil pump. https://www.onallcylinders.com/2017/11/30/how-to-delete-or-disable-active-fuel-management-afm-on-gm-engines/...

Water stuck in door panel? 2014 Tahoe

Is there any possibility that the waterproof membrane under the door panel is allowing suction to hold the water in? When it rains a dirty weather strip can become an air stop against the glass and create a suction barrier. The more water that collects at the bottom of the door, the higher the...

Copper Clad Aluminum wire on an auxiliary battery installation

Good question. Good info. Aluminum was supposed to be the fix for rising copper prices. Aluminum contracts & expands from thermal loads. That loosens the connectors made of dissimilar metals. Loose connectors means arcing. Arcing started fires. Aluminum is ok for power as long as it’s up to...

2013 Denali rough start and poor acceleration

It’s a lot easier to go for a drive with the person who has the diagnostic tool in their lap while they are in your passenger seat. Until then, ya got nothing. Everyone could be right or no one could have the answer to what’s going on. That’s forum diagnostics for you. This far in you need data...

    Broken rear bumper brackets?

Yes, JB Weld is your friend. Add kitty hair (shredded fiber glass) in to strengthen. The key is surface prep. JBW needs a good bite into the mating surfaces. At least it’s on the backside so it doesn’t have to be pretty. The JBW doesn’t stick to porous / rubber surfaces in case you need to...
