Blue Pentofrost. I run it in everything. Hate 4 different coolants, so I run the best. The second choice is the pink Toyota coolant. We use it in all the big semi trucks and a lot of heavy equipment. I'll run water before dexfuck. Hate the stuff. I don't care if they fixed it or not. After the...
The weak sister called the 3-4 clutch has excessive clearance. This was the norm from the factory. You need a serious update to the 3-4 clutch pack. 8-9 frictions, kolene steels and a .030 clearance. If you're going to abuse the shit out of it, get the 4L79 3-4 drum that uses turbo 350 clutches...
2 issues. First is the band. It's probably the narrow band with the stock lining. Second, is the reverse input drum where the band rides. If you got it hot, it warped and you won't get full apply and grip. So you really need the new reverse input drum, the wide kevlar band, the Corvette or...
60k plus on the sensors? Replace them. They do all sorts of things that don't set codes. Just trash them like spark plugs. It's been a common thread with O2 sensors since the beginning.
Just picked up an 02 Tahoe. Same poor tracking at speed. Wanders all over. I'm used to it and can keep it relatively under control. This is the 4th starting with a 1998 that has done the same thing. The 99 steering actually locked and I ended up rolling in a ditch.
So this new to me 02 is...
looks like the first mod, aside from the trailer brake install. I have the harness, but it won't fit where it says it goes. And the controller doesn't work. Which may be from the accident. If it got wet, I'm sure it's junk.
As soon as I get the brake controller and a light issue fixed, I think I'll head to Florida to grab the donor Bentley. Pictures on the trailer coming home once I get it.
Greetings infidels!
I'm back. What a lot of crap. Had to deal with some boat nonsense, a trip to Texas that didn't work out. Which resulted in a bad fall and further injury to my shoulder. Christmas was a blur. I hope you all had a lovely one. I spent mine on pain meds. Don't know how I cooked...
The updated MPI type spider is a vast improvement. Just remember that you need 61-64 lbs fuel pressure or you won't fire off the injectors. It can be reprogrammed for forced induction.
This is a great procedure we all could use. I failed to mention that the ABS unit has a valve that has to be manipulated in the bleed process. Using the scanner for bleeding is also recommended.
Just a quick thought, how old are the brake hoses? You can get a lot of expansion from old ones. We are to replace them at the 10 year mark on the Bentleys. $4500 just for hoses. Aren't we lucky our hoses are so inexpensive?
I tend to agree with you. There are so many things that have changed for the worse. My Arnage just isn't as solid as the cars even 2 years previous. It's faster, handles better and the fuel economy is insane. But things have to be replaced, not repaired.
You might like my project. 1998...
What I am is a little different. I owned shops for many years. Between A/C and transmissions, seems I could cover the bases on jobs that most techs are ignorant of. Then there's my Rolls-Royce and Bentley certifications. I've stayed on the edge of the business. Then the dynamic changed...
Corvette servos have worked great forever. If you feel like you need the additional application, go for it. I do. Should use a new pin. There can be wear on the old one.
13 vane rotors are pretty much standard. They come with 2 rings, 13 vanes, the rotor and the retainer. You may get the slide...
I've seen that before. You need and SFI flex plate. Amazing what damage a V6 can do. Input shaft broke because the whole mess went off center. You probably ruined the pump as well. The converter should be checked just in case.
I did say check balls!

Building 2 of my own right now. I love this trans. The trans doesn't care about your reprogramming, thankfully. Proper pressures and clearances, as well as a bulletproof cooler will make...
I've built these since they came out. Already, we have some good advice here. The reverse input drum with the wide band is a great upgrade. Don't forget to use the Corvette servo. Most of our trucks came with them. You can use the billet cover if you want. It's a bit better. Replacing the...
