What's a good year? Or one to avoid?

Why? Those fans electric fans will not outlast a hydraulic fan clutch. As other said, look for Hydro boost brakes. I don't have it and mine were down right scary until i upgraded to NNBS brakes. Also steering wheel radio controls were only available 03-06. If younused them before, you don't...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replace the rear wheel bearings and seals on both sides even though one seal was bad. I figured it was time at 315 k. One of the bearings exploded while I was using the slide hammer it was a little tricky to get out after that. That same side had some pitting axle shaft. Nobody around me had...

    Rusty Fuel Line and Filter

Thanks guys. I've had this truck for 5 years or so. I can't believe ive never replaced it. Esp at 312k miles now. It runs great, just noticed a slight delay on cold starting recently. I have the PO's records and the pump has been replaced at one point years ago. For the naysayers, the brake...

    Rusty Fuel Line and Filter

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

New rear hatch struts and Toshiba HIR1 Hi beam bulbs. Also did the 4-Hi mod. Nice and bright now!!! The hatch is aluminum and the cheap Amazon ones are are waaaaay too powerful. First time i opened it, it flew up and busted my fixed rear hatch glass hinge. The Stabilus are what ours came...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally finished my NNBS brake upgrade. After an overnight soak with PB Blaster, the hard line to rubber hose connection freed up. Other wise i was ready to run a new line from ABS to drivers wheel well. Had to drill, tap and helicoil a control arm and both knuckles for barke hose hold downs...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Started my Big Brake upgrade with Power Stop kit (from a 2008) and new GM OEM rubber hoses. I broke 3 bolts (2 on one side and 1 one other that hold down brake hose) and drivers side hose might be permanently rusted to hard line. So i might have to repair last few inches of the hard brake line...

    Best highway tires

Michelin LTX are the best i have ever owned. Great dry, wet and snow traction for a highway tire and super quiet. Look for take off rim swaps with low mile Michelin, that's what i did. Much cheaper and got 18" wheels too so I could do the Big Brake Upgrade.

2004 Denali Z55 front shocks swapped to Bilstein B6s question

I bought my resistors from eBay made for this bypass. I love those Bilsteins in mine too! The built in resistors in my rear Arnott air shocks seemed to fail in about a year. I ziptied the fronts up and out of the way from manifold. Your can leave the yaw sensor and linkage arms intact.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

New hub bearings. ABS was malfunctioning, even when just replacing sensors. Only one rounded off hub bolt from pervious mechanic. I had to cut off the bolt head. Air hammer and BFH were the heroes. One hub separated after 2 hits. Cleaned up mating surfaces real well and used plenty of...

New water pump and fan clutch? SOLVED

Got it finished in about 2 hours. Also replaced upper and lower radiator hoses and T-stat. The fan clutch roars about the same as my old one, a little bit longer just while.cold in neighborhood. Nice and quiet now, old pump bearings were very rough and the orange antifreeze was very brown.

AC problem 01 Yukon XL 5.3 w/rear air

If you have ruled out low refrigerant and a bad low pressure switch, The most common issue for the clutch would be an increased Air Gap. As the.clutch wears thinner, it will require more voltage/amps to electromagnetically pull the clutch across the larger air gap. Some.auto manufacturers have...

AC problem 01 Yukon XL 5.3 w/rear air

Rockola1971 is correct. Your system might have no or low refrigerant an can have a leak anywhere. Dont throw parts at it until proper order of diagnosis.

New water pump and fan clutch? SOLVED

Thanks everyone! I use RockAuto 95% of the time. The fan clutch still has me confused. I have RPO GT4 for 3.73 axles and Z82 tow package, but they all say W/O tow package in description except for the GM Genuine that says electric but also thermal, strange...

New water pump and fan clutch? SOLVED

At 309k miles I am ready for my 3rd water pump. The bearings are loud I thought it was my alternator so I change that, apparently those bearings were all so trashed so its not as loud, but i can tell by spinning water pump pulley by hand those bearings are also on their way out. Since the fan...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes, my dust shields are 100% gone.LOL. OK, I will do both seals and both bearings and both shields. There are so many bearing sizes on Rock Auto with slight variations past the tenth decimal point. I Im going with matching Timken seal and bearing since I know they're made in USA. $109...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Since replacing the wheel seal involves playing with the rear differential. Should I just do wheel bearings and wheel seals on both sides? And be done with it especially since I have 302000 miles original bearings?
