    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

aah, sounds nice, so you only work on location I can imagine? I always surprise myself how much gear I need to take with me. I've had a 10 x 4,5 m unit last year, where I did my work. But I couldn't find the flow there alone so it was hard work for poor money. But with age we learn. Last months...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Haha yes I really had (and sometimes you have) that. I'm to good for this world haha. But it's getting better, and the feedback is always good, so making a name for myself first and investing, and it's just hard work because common people think you can do a full wash and a 10 step polish in 2...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Thank you very much! A very cool, always good to meet a fellow detailer. instagram.com/nijholtdetails I'm just starting to post some more work of myself. Not always detailing because people not pay enough, but always give 100%. You got your page here of your truck?

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Just edited the post just before you replied with a question :) Yes exactly my though. Remove the old stuff, weight savings. Also have these speakers laying around, but I'm not sure it's worth cutting the steal of the door for them.. These:

Well I understand what you mean and I'm not an audiophile, but all speakers just crack, can't even hear the news properly when driving 80 for example. @Tonyrodz Then I'm certain I don't have Bose, but I don't mind. Made up my mind, going for the full removal and new wiring just for the cabin...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

A right, so only 1 speaker at each door? I've the LT model but can't find any signs of it being Bose, and it sounds like crap so I hope for Bose this is not their stuff. Also as sad, no sign anywhere of it being bose. I will upload some pictures. My original system is a with a amplifier behind...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Thanks for the input, looks good for the money. But for me it will be €125 with shipping and taxes. When my cousin gets the opportunity to get to the Netherlands I will order the Airaid 200-912 and a AEM dry air filter from AEM and keep de original box as described in the following post...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Cool, I already thought so. 2-din is cool but you need a new dashboard panel ha? And did you use the original amplifier and wiring or have you changed a lot of your audio? Looks good mate. But that dash piece was not available in Europe so it would be a very expensive build because of sending...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Hahah. Yes it does, that are the openings. Pretty famous sub in Europe from Pioneer, is Pioneer big in America? I'm stock hight. If I would do something, it's lowering it a little. But I really like the hight as it is in the sense that I cannot always keep all 4 wheels or on the road and a few...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

And since the beginning I wasn't exactly blown away by the 16 inch rims. But after reading a lot of topics, I made the decision to go for 18 inch titan wheels, @05Single 's build was one of my inspiration. But Netherlands is not America and these rims are rare and if I found a rough set they...

    Tonny's 2001 Tahoe build

Alright guys and girls, it's time to blow the dust of this topic and tell you guys what is going on and going to happen! Since my last post nothing really new happened with the Tahoe. Had new MOT in April 2020 and so on his way to the next MOT in 2021. Had a busy and rough time in '19 en '20...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Just did a check in the goverments MOT requirements. In my case, the Chevy may not make more then 95+2 decibels nearby the muffler under 3500rpm. EDIT1: Just spoke with my cousin who is trying to get to the Netherlands somewhere in the next months. No problem for him to take the Airaid 200-912...

Looks kinda the same as a flowmaster FlowFX, who is cheaper and easier to get for me here...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Thanks for the reply! Just searched for some video's, all though I will do single out, wil it be like this? I don't have a extra resonator so it will be from the cats to the Borla then, and want to use the old 3 inch pipe out the back. My Tahoe has only the front seats left as I drive it for...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Just found some very good comparison video's on youtube from the Flowmaster exhausts, this made me wondering that this is probably enough: https://www.ajspeedshop.nl/a-57986483/flowmaster-dempers/flowmaster-50-series-delta-flow-3-inch/

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Do you have a number of the filter? I can't seem to find it in Europe... EDIT: SKU: 28-20129 ? EDIT2: Ok, this filter I can get from the UK for like 40 dollars but the Airaid 200-912 is not available in EU or UK. With shipping and sending it will cost me like 250 dollars, I can almost get a K&N...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Sound legit, was just reading about the Airaid. Yes, I want to hear the sound a little more but when driving around town, people sometimes don't even hear me coming, (then me thinking hey v8 what's up?!) The 3 cilinder 1.0 Citroen C1 from my sister fully stock is louder then my Chevy to give you...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Borla might also be a possibility I just found out.. EDIT: Or like a super 44 or super 40. Don't need to get problems with the MOT, or at least, that's the best, otherwise i've to change it every year haha. If I remember correct, 97 decibels is the max for my vehicle in the Netherlands...

01 Tahoe tune incoming, what (cold) air filter and exhaust?

Hi guys, Tonny from the Netherlands here. I've a stock 4x4 Tahoe LT 5.3 2001, original Dutch delivered. I found a famous Honda tuner nearby, where I went for a visit yesterday. I went there yesterday and looked at the options, he can pretty much do the same as Black Bear Performance so that's...

I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

From my post in June: ''Well compared to gasoline I pay around €0,64 per liter gas or €1,60ish for gasoline per liter; €2,90 per gallon LPG or €7,26 per gallon gasoline. LPG is actually a cleaner fuel. But can sense some lag of power when driving on LPG.''

I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

Yes I understand what you tell. Every country has other rules at the end. I'm not afraid that I can't fix my exhaust, but the measurements just seemed weird to me, but that is just how they did it at GM, maybe they had some parts laying around:p I'm thinking about straight piping it after the...

I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

Yes I noticed that too. I've a theory for that, that might actually be a fact. The Netherlands is the land of people cycling. And next to many roads there a cycling lanes (I've been to America and you guys do not seem to have that). It would mean all the exhaust fumes would blow to the cyclists...

I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

Wich then comes out of the back of the Hoe: and yes my diff will get a new gasket too :) And we Dutch people call this a large muffler. A truck has smaller ones here in the Netherlands ;)

I have the most strange exhaust? Dutch Tahoe

Yes the Netherlands is the most fucked up country to live in as a car enthousiast. For example, a Tahoe in 2001 cost around €70.000 or $66.000 compared to that years course. That has all to do with emissions. Around €17.000 of the €70.000 was payed only for emissions. And the rules about cats...
