    Whine/drone in drivetrain - 2018 6.2L/10-speed

I'd look at one of the front hubs. Jack it up with wheels on and see if you get any play side to side or up and down. Tim

Fresh oil change and catch can info

So my truck just turned 30,000 miles and all I can say is its a great ride. I purchased it with about 26,000 miles and this is my 2nd oil change. I didn't trust the dealer telling me it was freshly changed after I purchased, so I changed it with fresh M1, WIX filter and added a JLT catch can...

    2019 valve clean

I add Marvel Mystery oil into my fuel every once in a while. I've not had my 19 apart but in all my other vehicles, including BMW's its always worked. A catch can is an easy install, took me less than 15 minutes and is pretty much plug and play if you but the right setup. Tim

2017 Tahoe-Brake disc, pads and hoses

S/S brake lines do not flex / expand like factory rubber lines. They will make a big difference in pedal feel. Is it needed, no. Tim

Safe to tint windshield 2021 Tahoe?

I added 3M ceramic something or other to my windshield. It is barely any darker than stock but it blocks out 95% of the heat and it makes a huge difference here in FL. I had the sunroof done too. Tim

    2016 Tahoe 5.3 to 6.2

You can just leave it unplugged and adjust the tune to delete it, or swap the cam gear and chain. Here's a great link to read thru: https://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gmt-900-trucks-general-discussion-188/2009-silverado-5-3-6-2-engine-swap-help-503532/ Tim

    2016 Tahoe 5.3 to 6.2

Stick with the 6l80 and you will be light years ahead. The 6.2 will have VVT which the 5.3 did not, so plan for that be either eliminating it via cam, lifter and spring change or via the tune. You could also opt for a plug and play crate and transmission with ECM if the money doesn't scare you.

Recommend me a decent quality catch can

So I ordered the wrong catch can from JLT a few weeks ago, completely my fault for not reading the description till the end. I called JLT and spoke to Vinnie, he agreed to send me the correct unit, no questions sked, no cost to me. You can't beat that customer service. Its on the way and...

    questions on stall converter

LOL I'm an old man...53 but these pigs need help getting out of the hole. I'm not into loud exhaust though. I need to be able to have a conversation in the truck as I am always on the speaker phone.

    questions on stall converter

Gotcha. I loved mine in the H2 but different beast. I'd put one in my Yukon given an opportunity. Tim

To Performance "Chip" or not to "Chip"....

I think its just the 10 speeds that are still not tunable.

To Performance "Chip" or not to "Chip"....

I don't think any tune can adjust the transmissions in the new trucks but I could be wrong. I went with the Diablo Lew tune in my 19 6.2 and it made a huge difference. It was $600 I think but also worth it to me. Tim

    questions on stall converter

With a lock up converter, once you reach specified rpms, it stays locked so no more maintaining of the rpm is needed. So to get going from a stand still, it will rev to say 3000 rpm but then just putzing around it will run where you need it to be even if its at 1000 rpm and 15 mph. SO if you're...

    questions on stall converter

You have many things working against you. Gears would make an immediate change and give you the most bang for the buck. You'll probably need to go 4.56 to get that thing rolling. Its best to do the rear main at the same time. You will have to pull the transmission loose anyway. The cam swap...

    New guy

I'm not sure if mine are different than others with the Graphite package but my fog light trim is almost like a black chrome color, not bright but not black either. I'm going to black out the red in the GMC badges and might black the surface of the Yukon emblems and leave the edges chrome. SLT...

Tell me about your super charged 6.2

I love my 2019 Yukon but after coming out of a fully built H2 with over 500 hp, it needs some more umph. I have a Diablo tune on it now but realistically I am going to add a Magnuson 2650 blower or their new 3100. Tell me what you have and any issues t's caused. Tim

18 Yukon XL 5.3L Oil Pressure

My 6.2 in 2019 Yukon does the same thing. My tuner / transmission guy says they are designed this way to save fuel. They have a variable speed oil pump and just don't need that much at idle. My alternator output drops on long trips too, another fuel saving feature they say. Tim

Just added a Diablo I3 tuner. It makes a big difference. I'll drive it a week or so and then get it tweaked. I'm extremely happy with the truck so far. Tim

2016 Yukon, is this a good deal?

After just searching for a month or more I ended up with a 2019 Yukon SLT with 27000 miles. I paid $54,000 for it. Used cars are insane. I had to buy but would suggest if you're not in a hurry to wait until summer is over. Being the son of a retired auto dealer, I know prices are up...

Recommend me a decent quality catch can

They all work the same, they are simple. For the money I like the JLT version, its $149 and comes with connections. I haven't gotten that far on mine but when I do, that's what I will order. Tim

    Loss of power

If the engine temp gets too hot it will throw it into limp mode. Watch your temp gauge and see where it climbs in traffic. Both fans should run when A/C is on, if not start there and look at the relay's. Tim
