In the SeatShop video they show tabs with a reverse hook on them so you can use a screwdriver to hook in there and stretch them to hook them on. The one they sent me didn't have the reverse tabs but I was still able to push them on. In the front, the tab was a bit too tight to fit on the metal...
Replaced my oil pressure sensor today. The original failed last week. It was nice to see the filter screen under it was very clean. Poked a hole in it getting it out for inspection though, so replaced that also. There are plenty of how to videos on youtube for this procedure so won't duplicate...
I just replaced my drivers lower seat cushion and covers. I used SeatShop ventilated cover and OEM new cushion. Everything went together easily; I used a ratchet strap around the seat so I could have some play to hook the cover on. Those guys have a YouTube video showing how its done and they...
The difference in additional heat (I replaced cushion and cover) coming out of that seat now is remarkable. I wish I had the old cushion to tear apart but the trash man already took it.
Are you sure it's red/blk or is it really pink/blk? If pink/blk it is pin 5 in the 14 pin connector. There is no red/blk on mine (w/o Y91 w/ UQA). If so, the pink/blk is the low ref. Maybe hook up your new setup and see if pin 5 mates with anything in the GM5+ harness kit. If you still have...
Same here, I need it all the way down. Anybody else will have to raise it up standing outside. Now my gear wouldn't quite slide on so I had to file the shaft a little bit. After the JB weld set up i spun the shaft and the gear was straight. When I popped the gear into the housing there was a bit...
I replaced both the foam and seat cover. I sit about 1" higher now due to the new foam.
Bummer though. That gear I showed was for the driver's rear end seat lift. I replaced with Gruven brass gears. Doesn't seem to be binding, but it seems the motor doesn't have enough oomph to raise my 195Lb...
Started fixing my seat today.
Also made $1.47 while I was in there. I figured that would have bought 3 gallons of gas when I was a PFC and 1/3 of a gallon now that I am retired.
All in all not a hard job but that is one heavy seat! Easier to get out than the one in my daughters Malibu though...
First time quotes didn't work! May have been the Four Roses? Anyway.
Mine have some corrosion. If your old ones are in good shape I submit the first bid!
Mine have a bit of corrosion. My Suburban is white, and I have a bit of corrosion. If yours are in good condition, I submit the first bid on your old ones!
I was driving through town with my new fishing pole in the back to meet my buddy for a fishing expedition (that's one of the things retired guys do) when the new Suburban that replaced my Suburban at that business went past. I pulled in behind her at her parking lot (the owner) and had a nice...
I drove to Cleveland and back last weekend for a funeral, 447 miles. Outside temperature was in the 20s and the trans temp never got above 113. So this might have some value for winter months.
In my case I installed a large screen aftermarket head unit (Jensen CAR-910W). The color of the OEM camera was tuned to the OEM head unit (slightly blue on my aftermarket head unit). But more importantly the larger aftermarket screen highlighted the lower resolution of the OEM camera, since the...
I bought a used backup camera off EBAY for my Suburban to get the connector (so I could replace with a higher resolution BUCAM100J for my aftermarket head unit) and they just inserted a screwdriver under the flange and popped it out breaking the little melted tabs from the applique. So rather...
Thanks for posting the pics! But I thought you were installing between the rear two captain's chairs. :oops:That is basically what I want to do. The cupholders are down at the rear of the front console on mine. My father in law who lives with us can't quite reach them.
If you have a chance would...
I drove 447 miles to Cleveland and back for a funeral. Often driving 80-85 MPH. The DIC calculated 15.1 Avg MPG, but my true average was 16.8 MPG. 447 Miles burned 26.6 Gallons. Four people in the car and luggage.
Average outside temperature was 24-28 F. The trans temp averaged 113F which I...
Sirius XM also has an app for your phone that works with Apple Carplay (and probably Android Auto) so you could install the sat receiver or not. My daughter's car has a receiver which she uses and I maintain the Sirius XM subscription for that, but I listen to BBC, Fox News, or Willy's...
My last full regular day of work was yesterday. :rotflmao:I am going to replace the seal at the oil cooler take off. It's weeping a little, I tried tightening the bolts a little but to no avail. It doesn't really need replaced but I am going to do it anyway. Does anyone have an opinion over the...
I have always had bad luck with Cooper tires. Early tread wear out or out of round. My dad always bought them because they were cheaper and he often had large bubbles appear in the sidewall. Other people have good luck so it's just us and Cooper.
