The fans run on low speed all the time and kick to high with A/C. Not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be but that’s how mine are.

170k. Never been hot or shown any troubles. I changed to full synthetic fluid a couple years ago.

Quick update on this. So far I really like the efans. Towed the Jeep for a few hours without any issues, truck seemed to have more pep. Ambient temp was in the 40s, so not really a cooling system test.
I did have to replace the OEM high speed relay in the secondary PDC, when it went out it...
‘00 kid hauler that also sees tow duty. Only cosmetic mods are tow mirrors and led headlights/fog lights, everything else is for better tow performance.

Your sway was 100% caused by not enough tongue weight. You need 15% of the trailer weight on the tongue or sway will occur.
Once you get your tongue weight set properly, and you don’t like how much the Yukon sags then you can look into air bags or a WD hitch. All the trick towing stuff in...
Finally got a chance to get this done tonight.
Now bear with me for a few more questions. The fans run on low speed at startup, normal? With the A/C the fans kick to high but cycle on/off with the clutch. Normal? From reading my specs from BB I took it to mean the fans would run for a...
Started with this mess:
And ended up with this:
Yes that’s the dining room table, my wife went to town for the evening [emoji3]
I seem to be missing the pin to run to the PCM, but there is a small 2 pin weatherpack connector just down the line from the fuse block with a green and blue...
Yeah I am going to go through the harness and strip the headlight/park light stuff that I don’t need.
It helps to be friends with the junkyard owner [emoji3]
Scotty I have read your write up a few times and plan on following it. Nice work!

As luck would have it I may have located a '05 Silverado 4.3L at a local yard. Rockauto shows the same P/N across the board for cooling fans so I am going to try and check it out tomorrow; hopefully I can scoop the fans and wiring harness both.
I already have a BB tune, so that will be the way I'll go. I have a list of things I want to update/change anyway.
As far as harnesses go, ls1fans or Nelson? I have read pos/neg of both. The likelihood of finding OEM locally is slim to none, probably end up with a Dorman or Spectra unit and...
Considering converting my 00 Yukon XL to electric fans. Do they move enough air to keep a 6.0L cool with 8k of trailer behind it? I have read that they turn off over a certain MPH, if the engine temp comes up on a long uphill pull, will the e fans kick on and pull enough air to keep it cool...
