New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

I do have the Bose on the A pillars. Funny you mention that. My setup has the separates in the front (door and pillar) and coax in the rear pillars. I thought for sure the rears were in the doors. No biggie really, it sounds good. Sidebar: Every time the wife and I go out to dinner, we both...

New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

I grabbed a photo of the XM module. The stock unit does do BT for phone calls, but that's all I have gotten it to provide. For now, I picked up the Aux-USB-BT thingy that j91z28d1 suggested which so far is working great.

New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

@j91z28d1, Thanks, that's a cool device and will solve a final issue. I appreciate the suggestion, I added it the cart (scariest words ever spoken in my house!).

New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

@petethepug, thanks for the vid. It does have XM. Truck came with a 3month teaser activation from the dealer. I reactivated my old SiriusXM account, (havent had it in years), and linked it. Just waiting for the retention dept to offer me the 5/mo deal. They also offered to re-activate my wifes...

New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

It's actually given me more opportunity to wrench on the 96'. I have to do a steering box and some other work that requires downtime, something I was always cautious of in the past.

New Toy - 2013 GMC Yukon

Back in Jan I picked up a new to me 2013 GMC Yukon SLT. 154k, Single owner, Tow package. Darn near every option except for the Nav headunit as far as I can tell from the RPO codes. These pics are the day after I picked it up. What I found really interesting for a vehicle with this amount of...

I concur, decoderpo is a good site. https://decoderpo.com/ During my recent research I also checked out the wiki for RPO. Some interesting stuff there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_Production_Option

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

I totally recommend the the food coloring trick. Drop it in a single spot and wait. Also, peel your carpet back and dry everything. Then tape strips of papertowel to the firewall and upper floor area. Use a hose or wait for rain. Which ever paper towel strip is wet, it will help you focus...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

@housed Here ya go. It's by the hinge where the two top bolts are, that hold the fender. In my case the seam sealer had cracked and allowed water coming off the windshield to drain down and enter at the cracked point. You probably don't need to take the fender off, I got lucky that I didn't have...

Do you remember where you bought these Wheels from? I can't really make out the emblem in the middle, but I really like them, would love to know more about them.

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

I'd say it's fixed! :head3: We have gotten 3 storms in the past 10days that each dropped a few inches of rain. Not a single drop of water in the truck. I'm relieved this is resolved. I can move to the next few repairs and maintenance I have planned during my Covid19 furlough. Now, if it would...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

So I may have gotten the leak resolved. I loaded up the RTV in an around the hood hinge, enough so that no water is pooled and has to drain off. Is it the best way, not sure yet. But it's definitely stopped the leak for now. We ended up getting 2" of rain two nights ago and there was no leak in...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

Not fixed...We got about 2" of rain a night ago and I found water in the driver footwell. The good part is that it had the red food coloring in it, so I know I just didn't get the RTV into all of the areas I should have. I'll apply more RTV and let it dry, then use the hose to see if it still...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

Got things all sealed up on Monday using Permetex Clear RTV (thanks @Big Mama). Last night we got a decent about of rain, but this morning there was no water in the drivers footwell. I'll chalk this up as a win for now. Gonna give the truck a bath this week, so it should be a good test to see if...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

Ok, after a few hours playing with the hose in different scenarios, I finally found the real sneaky leak. It's where the body parts of the cowl are sealed together. Long story short, the body sealer from the factory is cracked and that is what's leaking from, the drivers side hood hinge. What...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

I did seal up the cowl drain a little more with silicon sealant. And it's working, but after a bunch of rain, I have a tiny leak still. It was a lot of rain though, over several days too. I am happy the leak has been reduced, but it's not fixed. The strange thing is the water pooled in a...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

Partially fixed. Over the weekend I did reseal the hood release grommet in the firewall. We have had snow, sleet and rain today here in NJ. Work is busy so I have not actually been out side today. Will check the repair after work to see if it was successful. If it's still leaking, I'm breaking...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

We got a monsoon last night, which I was actually happy about, it was the best litmus test for the leak fixes. As it turns out, there is still a leak, albeit a very small one. And considering the 1"+ of rain we got last night, I'm pretty happy the leak wasn't bigger. The good news is that...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

I checked at lunch, no water intrusion into the cab, but the rain last night could have been light, so it's possible there wasn't enough rain to create the right conditions. Or the sealant was the trick to fixing it, which would confirm it was an issue with the sealant in the cowl at the...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

Opened up the cowl diverter last thursday and noticed that the sealant in there was dried and a little cracked. Added some marine sealant in there (3M 5200). Sealed around the firewall grommets as well. It had a few days to dry. We got rain last night, but I have not checked out the truck yet...

    Water Leak, Drivers Side

FOUND IT! ...sorta I found where the water it is actually entering the cabin area. It's the Hood Release Cable grommet at the firewall. And it was the tiniest little leak ever in the history of leaks. I soaked the drivers door and windshield for 10min with the hose and only after it sat for a...
