Started cleaning sludged engine
Over the years I've added a quart of kerosene to my sludged up engines and let them idle for about a half hour and then drained them with good success. DO NOT drive them with the kerosene in them though as it reduces lubricity somewhat.- undy

TRINOVA Liquid Carnuba Wax FEEDBACK THREAD

Not the dryer, it's the suction accumulator. The dryer is on the high side of the refrigerant circuit. The suction accumulator is on the low side (which is what you're seeing). Pistol placement...?
Carrying it in a visible place where it "could" be seen if you're pulled over puts you in a potentially compromised and dangerous situation with law authorities. To me, NOT worth the aggravation. Mine goes in my center console, and insurance/registration documents goes in the glove box. -
How much blow by???
If you're getting that much blow-by I'd have a leak down test performed. If your tune is off and had some detonation you could have a busted ring land or burnt valve. The stock hypereutectic pistons are very brittle and WILL NOT tolerate detonation. The statement that NA engines don't need...- undy

How much blow by???
The standard of measurement for air movement is CFM (cubic feet per minute). How many miles on the engine? Is it tuned? How much oil are you getting in the catch can? You shouldn't be getting much perceivable air flow. Are you sure you piped in your catch can correctly?- undy

Cam for 6.2
What trunion upgrade? Most of them are garbage and start to fail within 1K miles. Unless you're running a VERY wild cam with tremendous lift or a solid roller the stockers are by far the best. They will last you the life of the engine.- undy

The Denali threw in the towel today
At 225K miles I'd do nothing other than a full rebuild. Probably low oil pressure was a major contributing factor to the wiped cam. Your solution will do little to fix the problem, IMO.- undy

Coolant in oil after replacing water pump
Have your heads checked by a machine shop for warpage and cracks. The head gasket alone may not fix your poroblem.- undy

Anyone running wheel dust shields?
They should call them "DIY warped rotor kits". No, you're not running a F1 race car but you're trying to stop a 6000 lb vehicle. These brakes generate a bunch of heat. A lot of people that I know had problems with these, including myself, in the early 80s. Seems like these turds are making a... -
Engine ticking 3 days after oil change. Told I need a new engine.
Run, don't walk away from that dealer! Bad lifters DO NOT wear cam bearings. They wear cam lobes. Cams, lifters and cam bearings are all replaceable items, not requiring engine replacement. All of these items can be replaced (if they are even bad) with the engine in the vehicle.- undy

Misfire #7 cylinder
Make sure you run a compression test on the cylinder too. Inadequate compression = no fire.- undy

Rebuilding 6.2 Any good mods while I do it?
If you're not going to beat the crap out of it or add nitrous or boost then use hypereutectic pistons. They're the same "type' as the OEM pistons. They have less thermal expansion than a forged piston and they're quite a bit cheaper too. A lot of them have the graphite/teflon coatings on the...- undy

Need help- spark plug wire broke, dead cylinder
Probably, not sure what impact that'll have on the PCM. It might throw it into a limp mode. All you can do is try it. It's really your only choice if you want to drive it.- undy

Problem is, you stand the chance of washing down the cylinder wall with gas. That'll score your cylinder walls, scuff a piston and dilute your oil, possibly causing a rotating assembly seizure. Aside from that you should be fine.- undy
