You got something crazyy wrong with your stuff. It sounds like the autoride shocks weren't any good to being with. I don't experience anything remotely like that and I tow an 8000 lb travel trailer a's well. You realize when your towing you press the tow button on the shifter and all the shocks...
The autoride feature is a function of the bi-level state shocks. The shocks are monitored 200 times a second to provide the best dampening for the road conditions. It's actually quite a nice feature and has nothing to do with load carrying capacity.
The auto-leveling feature which utilizes the...
Alldatadiy.com or eautorepair.net would have the kind of information you are looking for. A chiltons manual more than likely wont go that in depth. The proceedure I am talking about here (removing and disassembling steering column) can be somewhat involved. It may be better off to just replace...
Looks like you need a new upper bearing. However you are more than likely going to need a lower and intermediate shaft as well if they have never been replaced. The only advice I can give is to disassemble to inspect each shaft and bearing section and replace whats worn as you go.
I dont see how a new exhaust could be louder than a rusted one unless it was straight pipes or they forgot a connection or screwed up the cat converter. Its possible and dont want to confess they broke it. I would get a second opinion. Have another trusted exhaust shop look at the exhaust job...
Every 30,000 miles per the owners manual. You can grab an owners manual on ebay. Some new in mint condition with cover, others cheap and in poor condition with pages torn, etc...
Look on the round tag on the case. It will state the model on it. For instsnce it may say NP246.
What exactly went out on it? Do you have 2hi at all ?
That seems pretty cheap. Make sure there is no gear or case damage or major leaks. It's highly recommebded to check the oil for metal shrapnel...
If it's hard to turn only in one direction then I would say you either have bad steering linkage or the recirculation ball mechanism in the steering gear isn't working correctly.
This is pretty much it. A vent and purge solenoid and fuel tank pressure sensor with associated nylon tubing and carbon canister back by the gas tank.
What's obvious underneath the hood is the purge solenoid. It is held in place by a bolt underneath the engine site shield. Follow the tubing and...
Yeah I guess it wouldnt be a bad idea to pull back the carpet some more to see better. I can use a sprinkler to simulate rain. I want to tape off the sunroof with duct tape to 100% rule that out.
Hey guys. I am finding with regularity after it rains that the drivers side front and rear carpet gets wet. I guess its been doing this since i bought it used nov 2015. I have to park it in the garage until it dries up. I see a ton of posts related to this problem but nothing looks conclusive...
Hey. Is there any trick to removing the two bolts from the upper control arm? They seem to be frozen in there and I tried knocking them out with a hammer but I still can drive them out. Something I am missing?
Ok I agree with this to an extent. No problem adjusting it with the weight off the wheels. But when are you doing this? In some repair circumstances it isn't going to make a lick of difference, with or without weight on tires. Of course the bolt threads need to be lubed. Of course you aren't...
I know 100% what a torsion bar is, how it works and how to adjust them.
I understand what your saying. But let there be no illusions. The service manual says to adjust it with the weight on the wheels. 2mm for each full turn. And yes you should see an immediate rise in height.
I did some research. It looks like trailering capacities for most Chevy Tahoe and Silverado 1500's from 1999 until 2009 without 4.10 gears are around 7600 lbs. My trailer is 7800 lbs dry (empty) from factory and guessing about 8600 loaded 1200 lb tongue weight. I am now possibly thinking of...
A transmission flush isn't what some make it out to be. And it will not in itself kill a transmission. I payed about $120 each service to have all of my last four vehicles done. I figured that if I was going to spend $80+ for the Dexron VI fluid then I might as well have someone else do it. The...
