I have a thousand "scratches" that only appear in a certain light at a certain angle. One person said it was from my brushing snow off it. A very reputable paint shop said, no, the paint feels as smooth as glass...it was a deteriorating clear coat. The factory paint job I wanted (take off...
I take offense to your 2006+ comment as my 2006 is exactly the same as your 2005 except one year newer. Lol. I have seen marked benefits in milage and performance running 89 over 87.
LOL True 2005 = 2006. Wasn't there something unique about that 2005/2006 change? I haven't really noticed any...
Man...who would know: Filler' up" would be so complicated. Next I'll read "For $99 we'll put fresh air in your tires...old air voids the warranty"! lol Lol LOL
What's a "tier"??? How would I know what "tier" any gas station IS?!?!? Hard to find "name-brand" gas stations anymore!!!
FYI: Have a 2005 XL and the Dealer suggested to start using mid-grade for the sake of the fuel system.
05 XL. The round button/switch on the side of the drivers seat: Top & Bottom control the seat back "wings" Left & Right control the Lumbar Support. I swear...one week I hit the forward button and the Lumbar Support goes forward/back side of the button/switch and its goes backward.....then...
What a coincidence!!! I just today picked my 2005 XL up from the Dealer. They forgot to reset that too!!!
I opted for clicking to "oil life" and holding the other button. Reset...simple. It's in the Owners Manual:
"To reset the engine oil life system, use the fuel button (left) to reach the...
Mine is a 2005 XL with captain chairs on 2nd row. Tilting the back of the seat forward a few inches while the seat is down opens the rail lock to slide the whole thing. I had to study the mechanism real close to understand how all those cables interact and see it was the black plastic piece that...
Been there/done that. It is a complicated mechanism. Twisting the lever allows the seat back to flip forward JUST A LITTLE...then if working correctly, will allow the whole seat to slide forward. HOWEVER...if the seat bottom is flipped up, it allows the back to flip way forward but NOT slide the...
I pressed that button in under the headlamp switch that's supposed to disable the interior lights when you open the door. It doesn't ?!?!?! They still come on when you open the door.
2005 XL w/ Michelin Defender 265/70R17...cruise a smooth 80/85 weekly. You all convinced me to just keep what I got rather then take a chance on something new & worse!!!
Latest: added 4 (four) exhaust vibration dampers to the exhaust system in addition to new engine AND tranny mounts. NO CHANGE! Still a vibration in steering wheel only at specific rpm's (like 700) WHILE PARKED and idling. Me, the Dealer, 3 garages...all give up!
Can't...don't own a cell phone, don't Tweet, Don't have a Facebook Account.
Read on another Thread about Exhaust Dampers. Luckily, the 4th mechanic did his research and saw that too! I'm torn between taking it as-is to FL since we're expecting a big snow tomorrow...or taking a chance they'll do...
Can feel it in the steering wheel while STOPPED/PARKED around 700 rpm's. Now in the FORTH GARAGE!!! THEY think it has something to do with the exhaust system. They read something (TSB???) about welding weights to the exhaust or using exhaust dampers (?).
Yes. They claim they did just that and no change. Could it be something in the exhaust line vibrating back?!? Neither mentioned looking at an exhaust issue. Went to a Third garage, they looked, ran it, sat in it, said they wouldn't check it in as they say "anything they'd do has been done...it's...
UPDATE: The Dealer installed (OEM) new engine mounts and transmission mount. NO CHANGE @$!@#$%
Vibration seems to intensify at approx. 650 rpms. Lessens above/below that. Two mechanics and the Dealer have no clue !!! There's got to be "some thing" vibrating related to rpm's.
2005 XL. Just started feeling this vibration...in Park or Drive standing still. Had a major tune-up at 100k and top end BG treatment yesterday. Don't have any missing. Engine runs perfectly smooth. Mechanic checked motor mounts, took off belt, eliminated harmonic balance, accessories, et al...
Couldn't find a thread on this. Took it to the GMC Dealer. X-pens-ive !!! Anyone ever replace a front impact sensor??? For $777 I said I'd take theirs out and melt it down just for the gold!!!!!! LOL
I think it IS indeed part of the pedal adjustment. AND, I spread out newspaper and silicon-sprayed all around the pedal while moving it up & down and hit the squeak!
Check my old Thread on this. SAME problem...was the sending unit on the top back of the engine. It always stayed around 40 for years...seems THAT should have been an indication its bad...s/b more like 60 when cold or high speed...40 at idle warmed up.
