It says in the instructions to hook them to the auxiliary input on the radio. There is an auxiliary input on the back. So do I need the RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter?
I have the RP5-GM11 all wired up and ready to go into my 04 Burb. My only question is what do I hook the RCAs to from the RP5-GM11 harness? My Kenwood Excelon touchscreen unit has the 3 RCAs(front, rear and sub), and has 3 single yellow jacks for front and rear camera and video out. It also has...
The alternator is new. It's an ac Delco. I replaced it because whoever owned the truck before me put the 105a alternator in the truck when the RPO code called for the 140/145a alternator. I don't know how long it was on the truck either before I swapped it. There's nothing wrong with the...
I replaced the grounds because they were broken or corroded. There isnt one from the battery to the block. There is one from the pcm to the block and one from the block to a stud on the firewall. The one from the battery goes to the front frame/crossmember.
I've replaced almost every ground I can find. Replaced all the ones under the hood except the one going from the battery to the front frame. Also replaced the ones under the drivers door at the frame. If there are some I'm missing let me know please.
Hey all. Figured I'd post here and update what I've found since the last time. Fuel pressure should be 48-54 since mines a flex. Hit the key and the pressure is about 45. Even when running. After it sits for more than a couple hours it's back down 0 psi. Suspected an internal fault on the FPR...
This 04 is driving me crazy trying to figure these electrical gremlins out. The indicator light on the AWD switch constantly flickers and or goes out when I push the brake pedal. Sometimes when I turn the truck off and take the key out it'll beep once or twice like I'm locking the truck...
I know it's a little different but I had an issue with a 2002 Cavalier I owned a few years ago. It was a weird ass fuel issue. We replaced the pump and filter and harness with an OEM Delphi unit and it was still acting up. Turned out the main harness connector under the drivers side kickpanel...
Yeah you're right on that for sure. But I know the computers have issues on these trucks too. The IAT readings fluctuated while driving earlier but was still within 10 degrees of ambient temp. Now, I got home and I went to unplug the maf and nothing happened, and then when I tapped on the MAF...
It's 20 degrees outside here right now. We are about to head out so I will get a cold reading and then a warm reading again. If I unplug the maf nothing happens. Truck doesn't die or change at all. Every car I've ever worked on if you unplugged the maf it would die immediately if it was good...
This morning the iat was reading 21 degrees. Yesterday it was 18 degrees outside and this morning it was 13 degrees. It didn't seem to struggle to start this morning but as soon as it caught I gave it gas to make sure it stayed running. I'm definitely doing to pick up a couple used ecms but I'm...
If you've read my thread, you will see that it's not the starter and it starts fine when it's warmed up and been running. It only has the issue when it's dead cold. Thanks for your comment but the above member Hagar is onto something. It's computer or sensor related.
Hagar,
It's been getting worse and what I mean is even just an hour or two will cause this issue now. If you drive it and get it warmed up, run in the store and come back it'll start up. But now it's to the point where it acts up after an hour or two. Now I'm wondering if it's the maf since it...
The IAT is in the MAF from what I'm reading...is that correct? And again if you disconnect the MAF while the truck is running nothing changes or happens and it doesn't die. It appears it's the OEM maf as well. I did take it out and use CRC MAF cleaner and cleaned it well but it didn't change
The other day it stayed the same. And I let the truck run for 30 minutes. I haven't checked today. But it still really struggles and sometimes doesn't start even after sitting for an hour or two. Once it's fully warmed up, it'll start right up after you shut it off and say go into the store. But...
Coolant temp has been reading normally since replacing the sensor. If you look back in this thread I posted the readings from yesterday. Dead cold, key on engine off. Here it is again. Truck sat for 12 hours. The readings where it's running were only a couple minutes into it running. I've...
Cylinders have no fuel in them. Injectors are not leaking. Plugs are clean and dry. Even tested the injectors with noid lights. After the truck has warmed up it'll fire back up with no issues whatsoever. That is until it sits again for a few hours or more. Also, when the truck is running and you...
Fuel trims are absolutely perfect. They were a little messy until I replaced the Coolant temp sensor but they've been where they are supposed to be since. I've pulled all the plugs out they look great and are dry, no fuel in the oil or anything. Pressure is solid. I just don't get it. I've never...
I mean what the hell else could it be? The flex sensor is working as it should and so is the purge valve. I've replaced every ground I can see and added some. Fuel pressure is solid both cold and warm. Regulator is not leaking gas out. Not getting any other codes. The other day I unplugged the...
Yes I know all about the aftermarket stuff. It's ridiculous how expensive it costs to put an aftermarket radio in these trucks. You still need an interface module even if it's not Bose to retain OnStar and the chimes and all that. If you have an older truck 99-02 you can use the cheaper harness...
What should the IAT read when the truck is cold? The CTS connector was missing the locking tab and when I pulled it out the connector was busted inside. It read max cold for a second on my scanner then went back to normal temps. I replaced both the connector and the sensor and had ran fuel...
