    Should I go dual battery?

You only need additional batteries for RESERVE. If you intend on running things when the car is off, the more batteries the longer you can do it (assuming they are charged). The alternator generates the power. Batteries condition the power (level voltage drop to a degree) if the alternator...

    How to hardwire dash cam

All dash cams I've seen require 5V reducer. You can get dash cam-specific hardwire kits with fuse taps on Amazon for $12.

Route wires from cabin to exterior

Wired my backup camera mounted to license plate by routing wire from behind plate to driver side tail light, remove tail light, look up and you'll see the cabin vent. Remove interior panel adjacent, run wire through vent, now you're in the cabin no harm no foul. Can just drill a hole behind...

    Rear Main Oil Seal

Replaced oil pan gasket without removing diff, disconnecting front differential, disconnecting axles... just unbolt it, lower it, pry it, remove pan, go in reverse. PITA but job done. Get the Mahle gasket -- only one that the main structure is one piece.

Need help with 2 issues. Blend door actuator and parasitic battery drain

Bridge your DMM over the fuse contacts for whatever is powering the Viper alarm when the car is in full off (key out, door open, waiting for things to shut down). Obviously need to remove the fuse to do so.

P/N for Wire Loom Circle Clip

Arrows are pointing to it. Yes, I can go to a junk yard and get me another super brittle one. Or get a new one (ideally without having to step foot on a dealer lot).

P/N for Wire Loom Circle Clip

Y'all know that big circular clip that holds the big honker wire loom going to the top, right side of the engine? Anyone know what the P/N for that is or where I can snag a new one? Mine cracked, of course.

Stiff Steering After Pitman/Idler/Box; 2WD vs. 4WD Steering Pump Difference?

So I just finished replacing the Proforged idler bracket and idler arm with AC Delco Professional. Stiff steering completely solved and power steering pump no longer making any noise doing it's job. I have left the Proforged pitman arm on right now, but it'll get replaced with an AC Delco next...

Stiff Steering After Pitman/Idler/Box; 2WD vs. 4WD Steering Pump Difference?

Nope. Did one side at a time plus it was always connected to the tie rods.

    Rear Main Oil Seal

Benefit of dropping the T-case is you can open it up and install one of those oil pump spacer things so you don't end up with holes in your case. Takes 30-minutes. You don't need to DROP the transmission, just pull it back enough to get to the rear main seal area. When you're done, slide it...

Stiff Steering After Pitman/Idler/Box; 2WD vs. 4WD Steering Pump Difference?

I did grease those components and regreased after bleeding the steering system (thus cycling those joints) and they're all good and greased up! Literally everything has been regreased that can be and needs to be greased under that car. All the suspension parts down the the shocks and the...

    Stiff steering

I realize this is an old thread, but I experienced this EXACT same thing with Proforged idler bracket, idler arm, and pitman arm. I'm pretty sure the actual castings of each are the same as MOOG considering both Proforged and MOOG pitman arms don't seat as high up the power steering box's...

Stiff Steering After Pitman/Idler/Box; 2WD vs. 4WD Steering Pump Difference?

I got a 2002 Tahoe LT for $2K with 191K miles. It's never left Georgia, completely rust free everywhere. Unfortunately, nobody maintained the suspension bits, so I had to replace all of that - was original. Then I started noticing the steering wheel clunk/rattle, so I replaced that plastic...
