    AFM yay or nay?

Considering the amount of AFM failures that we believe that happen, I would think that there would be a large amount of empirical evidence proving that merely disabling the AFM system would have a measurable improvement in avoiding a failure. I know a huge amount of AFM owners yet no one has...

    AFM yay or nay?

Any proof that the Range device will prevent the engine from blowing up due to an AFM failure? My research of anecdotes leads me to believe that the only way to prevent AFM from wrecking the engine is to spend the $1500 on the components to truly delete the AFM.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I picked mine up from the body shop today. I had them spray color onto my Bushwhacker 40936-02 OE style fender set and for them to install them. I paid $420 before a $50 Amazon coupon (now $410 and the coupon is still there to use) for the fender kit and $500 for labor and paintwork (they also...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah my sway bar linkswere blown out too on both sides. Makes me wonder exactly how much impact the front sway bars take with these SUV’s. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The fix for this is to install a 4114 bulb that can handle the voltage spikes. Manual calls for 3157 but GM issued a bulletin to install 4114. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much to repaint Yukon front bumper cover?

There should be ZERO difference as I sprayed color on the whole right rear side for that specific project :P Note that it isn’t rare at all for factory bumper covers to not match the metal surfaces around it. Factory paint jobs aren’t all that. Orange peel is horrible on a lot of trunks and...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just finished installing the Monroe MA830 Air Shocks. My truck had the original ten-year old shocks that looked horrible. Took about an hour. Garage floor to rear fender bottom is 37.25”. 20-psi gives me that back. I’ll be curious to how this will hold up trailering. I paid $44.57 for the pair...

Just finished a ton of work...ask me anything

Instead of fumble-fu**ing with strange rubber boots just buy all four remanufactured ACDelco “coated” calipers and rotors. I did that last fall with the wife’s Silverado and they still look brand new. I got everything from RockAuto. Don’t forget to replace the brake hoses too! They are a serious...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You can use a RJ-11 phone plug and hard wire it into the mirror's harness. Basically just any phone cord will work. Its nice as it powers up when the car powers up (positive to the pink wire). As far as mounting, use some 3M Scotch 1" x 3" Heavy-Duty Clear Fasteners attached to the factory metal...

    Headlight Bulbs 2015+

No offence but I flash my high beams at the same trucks on the way to work every morning that have non-OEM LED headlights and also their huge LED bars. Those LED’s blind the hell out of me. Totally illegal. I wish the State Police would start enforcement of non DOT certified headlight...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did the rear sway bar links and bushings today. This time I preheated up the stabilizer bar bushing bolts with my Oxy-Acetylene torch and the bolt unscrewed like it was in butter. This was an easy job. I also installed the replacement bolt for yesterday's debacle with the front sway bar...

    Police roof top antenna question

Better option would be to buy an amplified interior antenna. They are like $20. Here is a Chinese one for $10: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202334448400 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Police roof top antenna question

You could do this if you bought a 6-meter (50Mhz) NMO mount antenna (52” long!) and trimmed it shorter to accommodate the 88-108Mhz band. About $25 for the antenna and you’d have to do some simple math to determine how much of the antenna you’d have to trim off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much to repaint Yukon front bumper cover?

I’m not trying to threadcrap here but it takes 5 minutes to pull off the front bumper cover-grille assembly. Throw it on a dolly, clean it, wax-grease wipe, go to town with a DA sander, fill in the scrapes and gouges, urethane 2k primer, sand, wipe it down, prime, base coat, clear, DONE. Total...

Oil Catch Can added to a 2009 Tahoe

Here is an update. I think I’ve driven about 400 miles since I installed the oil can. I drained it and some nasty emulsion came out. I’d guess about three ounces. I was quite surprised that south water lurks in these engines. I need to install a miniature ball valve and drain hose at the bottom...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Decided to replace the front sway bar links and bar bushings. Both links were broken! This was a surprise and explained the heavy roll I was experiencing. Broke a motherf*****g bolt. Wow did that eat up a good three hours of my day off. Busted three drill bits and one M10x1.5 tap. Thankfully I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yesterday I dropped my trans pan, replaced the filter, replaced the rusted out transmission lines with new rubber hose, added a Tru-Cool transmission cooler with cold weather valve, and replaced the air filter. I have photos in this thread here. Today I added an oil catch can. You can see more...

Oil Catch Can added to a 2009 Tahoe

I bought this Chinese half-liter can from eBay for $14. It does not have an internal diffuser so I'll probably replace it in the future. I reused some hardware to make the bracket from yesterday's Tru-Cool project. I had no clue to where the PCV hose was and where it went to so I found some...

    Trucool 40k install

I planned this project out so I could hit many birds with one stone. The driving factor was the fact that my transmission cooler lines were rusted very bad. I read how it is a real pain in the azz to install the OEM tubes so I opted to replace everything with new high-temperature rated rubber...

    Trucool 40k install

I'm doing a similar install right now. Bought the Tru-Cool Max 4921 kit that includes the cold-weather bypass valve for $108 on eBay. This is a great deal as it is usually $160 around the internet. I also purchased 25' of Derale 13017 3/8" transmission hose , two Russell -6 AN 45 degree...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The OEM bolts are longer than 5/8. I bought 5/8 as that is what the spec is but the OEM ones are like 1” but have threads to about 3/4. I need to dig them out of the trash and measure accordingly or you can pull one out and measure. Note that the OEM ones have the long unthreaded part at the end...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah FYI those covers apparently are a special order item from dealers and big box auto parts stores. Plan accordingly; I ordered that one from RockAuto. These are the bolts I ordered. I would order them them slightly longer. Hex Serrated Flange Bolt 18-8 SS - 5/16-18 x 5/8" (FT) , $11 for...
