OP indicates that it’s “brown with a hint of pink” and didn’t indicate that he sees metal sparkles. He also indicates that it shifts “like a dream”.
I recommend that he change the pan filter, clean the magnet, and also do a fluid exchange. Just because the precious owner(s) skipped one...
Yeah I mentioned it in my post, “Hayden 397”. It’s like $5-10. It replicates the GM swage for the radiator and had a barbed end. I actually permanently use those in mine as I ran all new hose and a cooler.

You guys are hilarious. The transmission is a hydraulic system. Clean fluid is extremely important. The correct advice is “don’t BACK flush or POWER flush”. You aren’t going to shock anything by letting it pump out the fluid at its own speed.
Nothing wrong with dropping the pan, replacing the...

I did a filter change and fluid exchange while I had everything apart. I chose to run all new rubber transmission hose in lieu OEM lines. After 35,000 miles...
Did you order your RST or just buy it off the lot? A friend of mine out there has had an absolute nightmare experience with the dealers trying to order a new Suburban with the options he wants. No one will work with him.
It’s non-Bose. I could have also tapped into an ACC controlled wire on the radio harness. The “random wire” goes to a cigarette lighter plug circuit for the split bench seat which I do not have. It’s a fused 20A circuit. Seems to provide enough power and I do not hear any line noise.
That’s genius. I used to throw those out when I would install a remote starter. I like your idea better than oem as I can disable it by putting something heavy on the switch.
I’m very impressed you got that in there; it’s the first time I’ve even read about that mod. The Rockville’s performance is definitely “better than nothing”. I only wanted some more definition the the stock audio. I mostly listen to podcasts, country, and classic rock. The improvement is...
My ‘02 2500 HD has the light and it’s 100% mechanical. It’s just a heavy metal piece that shorts a contact when the hood is in the upright position. I opened it up to clean the corroded contacts.
It sounds very good. I had to hit the phase button as there was a slight delay but it sounds fine now. I had to take it out of service to do and oil change and such but I’ll swap it out tomorrow morning to really give it a good test; maybe I’ll hit the brown note.
Just finished the installation. Took about three hours working at my slow pace.
Used an E18 and E14 socket to remove the front seat front nuts and rear bolts. I didn’t actually remove the seats; just lifted them slightly lateral of the mounting points. Then I simply pulled the console back...
It’s always nice to see one that doesn’t have the paint worn off on the climate control buttons. Mine doesn’t but it was previously owned by a tradesman who didn’t have fingernails. I bite mine so I’m safe too.
It was at about 1600 yesterday when I finished my other projects and decided to take a swing at this. After realizing that I must pull both front seats to lift the center console out I put the brakes on it again. Maybe on my next set of off-days I’ll revisit this project beginning at 7AM.
Weight distributing hitch setup is priceless. Look for a used one off Facebook marketplace, Craigslist etc otherwise they are like $400+ for everything. Also consider Timbren’s.
I installed the Timbrens along with Monroe air shocks and it was nice but the air shocks kept losing air. If I did...
From a publication,
“Standard Motor Products Inc. says that with the Four Seasons Deslugger, professional technicians can strike out the slugging that occurs when excess oil and/or liquid refrigerant collects in the compressor after the system has been idle or parked over a period of time...
Lol good catch I meant the SUBWOOFER with the built in amp. I just saw that Rockville (factory direct) is selling refurb versions for $76 with free shipping. If this works out good for my Tahoe I’ll put one in my 2500HD too.
Even a moderate gain in bass would be substantial. I only last week installed new rear speakers as the old ones have been dead for years per the previous owner. I watched a YT video and installed foam baffles along with the replacement 6.5” Pioneers to protect them from water. What a dumb GM...
Thank you for posting that. I actually read that thread before I made a post here and I was under the impression that it was for a NBS Tahoe; not our NNBS TahoeYukons... Looks like it fits fine. Ordering now.
Did my first wash in several months. Its been clear skies in the 60's for a while. Washed it good, hit it with Sonax Fallout Cleaner to remove the embedded carbide junk from the highway snow plows (they wear 1" per hour). I'm surprised how well that Meguires Hybrid Wax lasted all winter. I can...
