MRC Front Shocks Leaking - My Options

I ended up going the OEM route and ordering AC Delco 84176631 ($712 for both) + $225 installed. Happy to be done with it. Rides much smoother but still truck-like.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Ordered black GMC emblems. Front struts are being replaced Friday by OEM (no Bilsteins after all). Rock Auto had best priced. Got the labor down to $200. Deciding whether I want to order intake/exhaust and them install while they have it.. Then would need Blackbear to rework the tune a bit..

New Rig Needed. Z71 Burb vs Yukon Denali XL

I’d go with Burb based on your description of needs, but the swing factor is the personal fun/pride/smile/whatever you want to call it factor of the 6.2l only you can decide. Costs def add up for the displacement. I was in a similar position recently and went with the Denali. Good luck, fun process.

MRC Front Shocks Leaking - My Options

Can someone post the Bilstein 5100 part number for the front? I'm getting mixed signals. This looks like it's for a 2012. Will this work a 2016?

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah dealer did the TSB flush and flash update under warranty and so far so good after ~3,000 miles. Replacing front struts with Bilstein 5100 hopefully this weekend.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah when I get around to it along with Borla, intake, black GMC logo, remove Yukon XL on the rear, maybe black Denali script on the sides.

I’m about to replace the MRC on mine with Bilstein 5100s. Glad to hear your experience is positive and Xineering kit worked.

    Prices Paid

Another option might be to try Authority Auto. I have no affiliation with them, not incentivized at all but just offer as an option because they were knowleable, professional, and easy to work with. After I negotiated down as far as I thought I could get them, they got another $800 off. Normally...

2016 yukon Denali, 46,000 miles, leaking strut...

Dealer told me to bend over and cough up $1800 for parts and labor to replace the two front struts so yeah sounds about right. I’ve seen others here say about the same as well.

SuspensionMaxx Lift Thoughts ‘17 Denali 20” OEM Wheels

Q1: 2.5” front only may sit slightly nose high. Add rear levelers to get a slight rake and the look you prefer. Q2: I have 33x12.5x22 tires on mine with just a 2.5” leveling lift in the front and no rubbing. Q3: a lot of guys seem to like the Nitto Grapplers too. Good luck. Post before and...

Thanks for the feedback. How do the ICON 2.0 Aluminum Series Shocks compare to the Bilstein 5100?

2015 Tahoe LTZ front shock/strut replacement options?

I’m currently in the same boat (63k miles, fronts leaking bad, $1.8k to fix) and started my own thread on the best options. After getting feedback and doing research, I’ve narrowed it down to Bilstein 5100s I think. $380 for parts+ labor.

MRC Front Shocks Leaking - My Options

Amazon sells for $750 + roughly $800 in labor so total cost not far off from the other options. I'm assuming Icon is the best option and this is second best. Anyone have experience with Icon?

Show off your 2015+ leveled Tahoes and Yukons!

Thanks dude. I need to get some better pics. I'll say the ride sucks though with the front shocks leaking. Just posted a thread about it in this section. Are you able to compare the way it rides now with the Bilsteins to way an MRC Tahoe/Yukon rides when it's working correctly?

MRC Front Shocks Leaking - My Options

My front shocks are leaking and it rides like a dump truck. Wife refuses to drive it. It currently has a 2.5" / 0" leveling kit on and sits a tad nose high. I want it sit level (no higher than 3" in the front), and ride very smooth as its the her daily. I will tow a Wakesetter occasionally. It'd...

Do you guys have a way to delete 15+ magnetic ride

Thanks for that Max, it's clear now what the current options are. The Bilstein 5100 cores would be interesting. Is it possible to have 1-2" spacers with the Monroe full assembled struts on all 4 corners?

Do you guys have a way to delete 15+ magnetic ride

@TheEngineer - okay, would AC Delco’s work too? If so, between that and Monroe, I’m guessing you’d recommend Monroe?

Do you guys have a way to delete 15+ magnetic ride

Thanks Max. As far as you know, this and an Icon/Fox/King set up are the only options if looking to replace MRC, right? Just want to consider all options and weigh the pros/cons before pulling the trigger.
