Thanks for the link @Californian. Awesome interior detail work to rehab the destruction of the previous owner!!
Your kid is standing at the back of the hatch debating whether to tell mom “dad broke his truck” or he’s thinking “mom’s never going to believe I had nothing to do with this” lol...
I’d like to know if anyone can tell me with absolute certainty if these 22” OEM Suburban wheels will fit an ‘09 Tahoe RWD without modification?
If modification required, how much?
Any help greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your knowledgeable replies.
Congrats!! With the center console power outlets swap out, did you maintain the factory flip covers or the weather proof ones that have been posted? Link to the product you used perhaps? Thanks
From personal experience 1) air bags in the springs to level the rear end out. 2) sway control/sway stabilizer/weight distribution hitch if at all possible 3) make sure your rear shocks are good 4)check tire conditions on tow and towed vehicle, no noted tire separating, gouges, screws/nails...
My apologies to everyone for the late reply to my post.
@Tonyrodz its pretty simple. Normal rear tire chocks, jacks, loosen wheel nuts, jack up, jack support...penetrating oil on the old parts to ease removal, one side at a time of course, remove and replace each part as the part removed-torque...
Kept hearing a horrible metal clanging and thump going over bumps and potholes. An inspection quickly revealed that I’d suffered stabilizer links failures on passenger and drivers side. Waited on RA to ship the parts and a little break in the heat from the Texas sun to complete the repair...
You’ve done a lot of ground work for your daily driver/show truck Frank! I’m sure once you have the interior completed, it will feel more like you’re in the home stretch! We owned an ‘05 Yukon SLT that was unfortunately totaled out and I had similar plans for her but God had his plans lol...
Just read this entire thread @Slurpglass!! Awesome work and skill set you have for vinyl wrapping. The Tahoe looks just as nice now, or better with the added wheels, as it did when you first posted.
Center console looks custom built with the Pyle equipment. Reminds me that I could use that engine cover lol Did not realize an ‘04 had the nnbs engine cover. I will have to remember that for my next Pick-n-Pull parts run.
