Can you benefit from running no cats on a tuned motor?

Eventually I want to get my 5.3 tuned and I was wondering if there was a benefit of running no cats on your exhaust system? I know I would need dummy O2 sensors so my computer doesn't throw a code. I also know they make high flow cats as well would that be a better route to go? Just trying to...

Newly rebuilt transmission clutch late release

The shifting at 50-55 sounds like it may not be going into lock up, which is basically overdrive. The shifting at 30-35 sounds like it shifting into 3rd. It sounds like it may be slipping in which case it needs to be gone through again. But only going off a description of whats happening its...

    need help with rear suspension

There should be places to get just springs for the rear. Ebay might have some I do know a company called maxtrac suspension sells 2 inch lift spings and you can put spacers with them to get some extra length not sure on prices but it might be an alternative for you

How can I increase my 2002 Tahoe 4WD LT's Fuel Economy???

I followed you Lol. Man that thing is clean! I would say gears, Long tubes and a tune would contribute I'm not sure on the gains you'll see. I avg 13 now and I'm on 20x10's and almost a 35 all terrain with stock 3:73 gears

    2004 Tahoe fuel issues.

I had mine done by someone. It's not hard to do but I didn't feel like going through the trouble of dropping the tank and everything. The new assembly should come with all new gaskets and everything. As far as the lock ring goes if its not expensive for a new one I would get it just in case...

    Spindle Lift Question

Yeah, I'm thinking I may do that. I live in FL and it was 104 the other day with like 90% humidity so im thinking i would rather pay someone to sweat and do it.

Taking my Stocker to New Heights, Could use some pointers

2.5 inch keys and if you can, avoid shock extenders. Yes they work but the sometimes have a tendency to break especially if your up north and have alot of rust. I just went to longer shocks in the front and in my opinion it rides way better. I have a 2wd yukon and I just used a set of 2.5 in...

    Cat back exhaust options

magnaflow? or a flowmaster are also a good option. Gibson makes a good system. Borla as well but im not sure on the sound, my impression is they are very mild in tone so either one of those might be what you're looking for.

    Cam and tune

I'm wanting to do a cam swap on my L59 5.3 Was wondering if a swap to a ls6 cam and springs would be worth it or if I should just go to comp cams or a reputable company like them to get one. After I do the cam swap I plan on getting a custom tune for it from black bear. Any advice or thoughts is...

Looking to go the 6.0 Route

I'd have the tranny gone through before you go straight to a new motor. With 200k the tranny is probably straining pretty hard to get all the torque put down to the ground

Trans Shift issues 03 Yukon Xl Denali

If you do have the 60e then it probably is on its way to a rebuild. Torque converter is starting to go more then likely causing it to shift hard and have a hard time shifting under harsh load. Mine did the same thing and one day I nailed it to pass someone on the highway and it started smelling...

    Lifter noise

Super common problem, I only have 155k and mine has the tick too. I've heard of people putting 10w-40 in it to quiet it down. I also heard that when you change your oil you put about a 1/2 quart of atf in the motor and it will help it as well. Now as to how true that is I have no idea, nor...

    Spindle Lift Question

Sounds like a handful. I have a shop in the area that quoted me 250 to install them and that's including alignment, do you think that would be worth it especially considering I may have to buy an air compressor, impact gun, ect. to do the job?

    Spindle Lift Question

Ive got the same set of spindles sitting around for my truck. Just waiting to save up for install atm. I have debated putting them on myself but my fear is not getting it back together the way is was and being that its suspension components. Also is there anything else i need to be weary of...

    now what's wrong?

Check The gap in your Spark plugs. Any auto parts store will have a gap tool and ask them about how to do it and they will tell you how to do it as well as what the gap should be for your motor. I did mine and the gap needs to be about .040 but as mentioned above double check that all the wires...
