That's not good news, I'd personally live with it or if it's really bothering you have the whole car wrapped or resprayed. You could damage the clear/existing paint by trying to remove it off.
It's for the divider/cage that goes in the back. I just used Gorilla tape cover the holes in mine.
Not worth the time or headache to replace all the trim in the vehicle. Just the core pieces.
Congrats on the purchase. As part of your tune up you might also want to change the gear oil on both of your differentials as well as your ATF. Just a simple drain and refill should suffice and have your truck really running well.
Another thing to monitor is your oil pressure. There's a screen...
I replaced the peeling steering wheel inserts with brushed metal parts and also replaced the Chevy emblem and airbag cover with a surprisingly well made eBay replacement. I've done a lot of work over the years on my cars but never done airbags so I was just as concerned as you.
As...
If you're DIYing the job you can pick up the Dormal replacement screen below and just toss out the old one. There are a few good videos on YouTube with tips on how to do this...

It's possible our trucks were designed and manufactured by the 'old GM' hence the weak interiors. The interiors on the new trucks are really nice, even on the '15 PPVs.
Thankfully these parts aren't terribly expensive to source so it's more of an annoyance at our ends.
Just posting a follow up here in case anyone else has the same issue. I was not able to remove the under fuse block completely as the harnesses (about 3 of them from what I saw) under the block would not disconnect when you pull on the 2 handles. There was also limited room to stick my hand in...
Another head scratcher is the black steering wheel inserts that 'peel' just by looking at it. How much money did they save by not including the 'metallic brush' parts right from the get go? :smh:
I'd go with the OEM A/C Delco ATF and 75W-90 for the rear diff.
Try your dealer for the part number of the OEM transmission mount then work from there.
@techbiker I agree that the trim piece is severely overpriced for the quality. The 'metallic brush' trim on mine has some type of peeling at the ends. If the truck didn't already have some other imperfections I would've sent it back.
@BlackDogBrian Take a look under the dash and under the driver and passenger seats for any wires that have been cut. Then also look at the cargo area in the rear. The hackers who take off the police equipment literally just cut the harnesses and plugs. Try to look for any wires that may be...
You'd probably get a CEL if it was a bad cat or O2 sensors. In all likelihood it's the gas stations switching to their 'winter' blends. Check your tire pressure too and make sure it's the recommended pressure.
Guys just curious, but are your new trim pieces with the DIC cutouts made in China vs. Mexico? I'm noticing some type of peeling around the edges but it doesn't appear to be a clear protective wrap.
@spectralen You got a damn great deal on that 3-cup jump seat as you have greedy sellers asking $300+ for them. Looks 100X better than the 'crate' you had before too. Rest of the truck's looking solid as well.
Should not throw any CEL but if you have a TECH2 scanner and look at that particular component then you may see a fault.
Other than that it's a simple plug and play, hardest part might be getting the old trim off!
@techbiker Was the #8 spark plug simply not accessible with your tools? There are a few videos on Youtube with suggestions on how to tackle it. I need to replace the sparks on my truck and you have me worried about #8 now.
Np @moab.
Same as before, replace the O-ring when you have the pan dropped. The pickup line is held in place with 2-3 x 13mm bolts. The minute you remove them, the line should just drop out. This should not happen if the rubber O-ring is making a good contact.
If you're replacing the original...
